That depends on the purpose of the imprisonment, is it 'corrective' or 'preventive'. If it's corrective (punishment for committed deeds), then leniency is in order. If it's preventive (you are in prison so you cannot do this is again) the sentence should be longer.
I subscribe to latter point of view.
What, an extra couple of months for her would put them out of business? People need to get lost in their work at bad times in their life, and need a little time to heal....
In 1999, there were 5,514 bills introduced in Congress (not counting procedural and internal Congress housekeeping bills).
Let's generously give 30 pages per bill (although many are multi-hundred pages). That would give ~165000 bill pages a year. Let's say an average congressman can read a page a minute (give them a benefit of the doubt). That would
make reading bills a full time job, year round. With no time for debates.
It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.

As a seller, now I have no recourse against a bad buyer. Ebay does not refund ALL fees, just the final
value fee, which is a percentage of the final price that the buyer pays. I lose the insertion fee (which
would be refunded if an item is relisted, but not for multiple item auctions) and any and all listing upgrade
fees that are substantial.
So in essense, it is GOOD for Ebay to have non paying buyers, as they get double the fees if the item has
to be relisted.
Last year ebay introduced 4-tier feedback for sellers.
Item as described
Communication
Shipping time
Shipping and handling charges
Why can't they do the same for buyers?
Something like this:
On time payment (this would automatic)
Buyer communication - this would be where sellers could indicate that the buyer is unreasonable,
tried to demand things, or left unwarranted neg feedback
Less power - need to cut corners to make the car drive at normal speeds.
One of the corners is lowering drag on the vehicle - hence 'fugly' futuristic design. According
to the presentation, your WINDSHIELD WIPERS create as much drag as THIS ENTIRE CAR.
So it might have been by necessity, rather than by choice.
I would certainly give my wife access to all OUR financial information. Just as certainly, I wouldn't want her to find my porn. If I had any, that is...
We ran a similar study here:
We asked 100 Nuns and 100 College Students to rate their consumption of online porn.
They had to rate it out of 5:
5. All day long
4. Heavy
3. Moderate
2. Light
1. None
Average consumption grade for college students was 4.3, while for nuns it was 2.2.
Within 20 years of this highly scientific study 20% of nuns got Alzheimer's, while none of the
college students did.
From this we can only conclude that heavy to overwhelming consumption of porn can preclude
onset of Alzheimer's disease.
Oh, that's easy.
Let's say you work 10-6 like in the article. Then at your mid-year review, your manager says something like: "
I see you are doing your job well, but I'd like to see more initiative." Then you notice that your coworkers all leave
later than you. Then, if your colleagues are willing to share the numbers you find that your bonus and/or raise
is half theirs. There's your real, tangible benefit.
The legal system? Did you see how after stealing more than $30,000 from the victim, the thief got
44 days in jail and probation? And this after she was ALREADY on probation?
You call that justice?
1. effective
2. well-made
3. pretty damn cool
4. free speech
5. Embarrassed his employers and their employers.
Because of free speech he was not jailed. No company is required to keep you on after you
did something stupid, no matter how cool.
That said, he will not lack for employment.
What it wasn't designed for is screwing by hand, where any other design works better. Ever tried to screw in a nail?

... is going to go the way of the telegraph.
Junk DNA = We don't really know what it does

There is a precedent - that's exactly how Cable TV operates.
I only care about maybe 8-10 channels out of 140 I receive (and pay for).
Cumcast feed and get paid $10?

What about Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968?
Google checkout is NOT allowed on ebay as one of the payment options. I was warned about it when I tried to put it in my listings.
If only US and EU aid did not pay for those rockets in the first place... you wouldn't need to pay for the laser.

Ebay is getting pretty heavy-handed in policing their auctions, and ebay and PayPal customer just sucks.
Where are my google auctions?
They should of teached them better than that in school.
