    It's up and running! The installer (expert install) asks better questions. In order to have access to non-free docs (GNU FLD) you need to accept this when apt is configured. If every piece of software that I usually use works, than I'll squeeze Squeeze in an Compaq Armada 1540DM (80MB RAM), which runs Lenny now. Hopefully it won't itch as Etch did!

    TFA doesn't contain a single maybe, not to mention THE DOUBT. The GUF (Grand Unified Theory) is about KILL THE DOUBT SWITCH. DOUBT is the way to go.

    I cannot agree more.

    Are UIs more important than us? Do they make us more able or productive? Do they boost out self-esteem?

    I don't think so.

    We like to do useful things so we can skip the desktop hurdle without any hesitation.

    As for window managers, I mostly use flwm which I find gentle on my hardware, has five buttons to choose from, places windows where I need them, tells me where they are on the screen when minimized, I can use either left or right mouse botton for root menu which unfolds nicely, etc.
