    I've been using glasses for 40 years now (myopia) and staring at computer screens for 30, and everything went fine.

    Three years ago presbyopia arose, and I took a pair of progressive lenses.

    Learn to move your head, not your eyes.
    Basically, re-train yourself.

    It monitors (nearly) everything, filesystem(s) usage included.
    Can trigger a script of your choice when an arbitrary treshold is reached.

    Has nice colored graphs too.

    An "Official Extension" written directly by Mozilla, properly advertised and recommended and all that, if you wish. But make an extension.

    +1 for QMMP.
    While it's still a < 1.0 release, it gets the job done (it plays :p ).
    Also, there are a fair amount of skins for it, as it accepts skins for Audacity or XMMS.
    At the moment I use one which replicates exactly the good old WinAmp 1.0. Hell, it even has the WinAmp name on each window... For the curious, here it is
