    If you use a proxy there's no supported way to get your real IP via Javascript.

    This is all pointless. I bet I can guess the first three numbers of your home computer's IP: 192...168....0...

    Of course I know that such information can be stitched together from various databases and online sources if one makes a concerted effort to do so. I kind of surprised they've done that though.

  8. Deleted? I have a hard time believing they delete any private information about users, including pictures. More like, they'll take your pictures offline so they still have your data, but you can't access it anymore.

    The Web can essentially take the place of a mentor. I was just as young when I started, and all I ever had a was a couple of little books that taught Basic. The lack of information and software held me back for a decade. Today, the Web is an absolute treasure hoard of information.

    over getting it done right

    In my experience, there is no "right" way to do it. There is merely a multitude of inexpensive ways and a multitude of expensive ways. The expensive ways don't necessarily produce better code.

    Try/Catch is essentially the same thing as a goto. And your error handler's label must be within scope. You cannot 'wind up anywhere'.

    Gaping holes? I've found VB6 code to be extremely reliable and stable and easy to install. Opening sourcing .NET was done for one obvious reason. They want .NET running on Linux because Microsoft has be unable to conquer the server.
