mysqli supports bound parameters, http://us2.php.net/mysqli
just because people use the mysql module instead of mysqli doesnt mean php doesn't support them. just skiddie apps don't. Also looking forward to see what they do reveal in the month.
You're supposing that the things that these schools are trying to block access to are not learning. By contrast, most people I know who are good with computers got there by doing things that authorities (parents, schools,...) did not want them to do.
And in practice most schools limit, but are still easy enough to bypass. some will find solutions that already exist (web proxys) and some will create their own solution.
The computers at my school were barely locked down, We could run *Nix from live CD's(Hell I was first introduced to a copy of linux when somone brought in a knoppix and RH cd's) or wipe the current OS if we wanted.
Interestingly enough a couple years ago back when I was in hs I actually was using a *.mine.nu address (which I have since let that domain expire) to my home computer which was using a sort of crudely written reverse proxy I had made, Crudely since I wasn't motivated enough to make it work with POST data, meh.
It was only used between about 3 people. I don't think it ever got reported though.
price is already going up, they are feeling it in Mexico where the poor go hungry from the increased tortilla prices. heard about it on some news about 3 days ago, dont have source onhand though.
its from the old dos so called 8.3 naming conventions all file names were required to be 8 all caps characters with 3 more for the type PROGRA~1/FILENA~1.EXE and the like
games could reasonably require admin if they need direct access to the hardware, but most games use some api wrapper now like DirectX, opengl. I wonder if raw sockets are usable in vista at all...
well, out of those four I only frequent/. and occasionally fark. but other sites i visit that are more focus on certain areas tend to show the same articles (or ones that reference the same incidents at the least) several hours earlier most of the time when i notice them
well regardless of what it is actually monitoring once people find out that something is better they tend to swarm to it, possible at rates that the provider would be unable to provide the said reliable service to.
The reason behind banning binary modules is that they cant be maintained or updated. The kernel API does change and they actually go around and update the modules that use the old versions of the api to the new one. this is done to help keep the kernel size down and remove bloat of supporting the kernel interface to an ubiquitous number of old versions which would then still have the bugs associated with them.
its not always an issue with some modules but it is what keeps the kernel from using ~87mb memory for the kernel like my xp machine is doing. granted the windows kernel deals with a few more things that are not offloaded to a piece of software for the job like the 7-9 versions of directx it has to support at any given time.
I've noticed that running a Linux vm inside windows that the display was a bit sluggish. my short fix was actually just using vnc to connect to the vm since that seemed to work great.
In the end i had not set up the driver to the vmware driver and fixing that allowed it to run fine in the full screen console and across dual monitors just fine.
forgot the part about dns names, aside from the services from.tk and others that do redirects and iframes.
dyndns.org is also a fairly nice server which does offer free (sub).domains from their hosts plus some other stuff with a price tag. to bad their account services page has become a bit over cluttered since i first used them.
You can do this on ANY XP Home (SP2?) computer currently (i don't know if you could pre-sp2)
network connections -> (any adapter) rclick:(propertys) -> install (ipv6)
once you have ipv6 on the same window goto advanced -> windows firewall settings ->
File and Printer Sharing -> Edit -> Change scope (allow any computer on the internet as opposed to default subnet)
there same thing done, without the new hw or OS pricetag
STAN
We need to talk. Do you know what this is about?
JOANNA
My, uh, flair.
STAN
Yeah. Or, uh, your lack thereof. I'm counting and I only see fifteen
pieces. Let me ask you a question, Joanna.
JOANNA
Umm-hmm.
STAN
What do you think of a person who only does the bare minimum?
JOANNA
Huh. What do I think? Let me tell you what I think, Stan. If you want
me to wear thirty-seven pieces of flair like your pretty boy Brian over
there, then why don't you just make the minimum thirty-seven pieces of
flair?
STAN
Well, I thought I remember you saying you wanted to express yourself.
JOANNA
Yeah. Yeah. Y'know what? I do. I do want to express myself. Ok? And I
don't need thirty-seven pieces of flair to do it. (gives him the
finger) All right? There's my flair! And this is me expressing myself.
(holds up her hand) There it is! I hate this job! I hate this goddamn
job and I don't need it!!

So would you say this is part of the cancer that is killing /. ?

I would like to second the motion to hold polls on days where more liquor is consumed.
Why vote for the lesser evil?
