I have never been to myspace (am partial to livejournal.com myself), but threaded discussions are much easier to follow than a mailing list or a forum. Saves time and it's non-blocking;)
Mostly because it seems the last person anyone actually asks are women themselves.
You're right!:)
Regarding stereotypes: I admit I am rather borderline to the mainstream image of what women are and should be (i.e., I'm not dying if I am not wearing make up, or if I don't have that Chanel perfume).
But I think part of the problem is also that many women don't make time for playing because they consider it to be a childish or typically "manly" use of time. (There are also many men who consider it a pointless activity, for that matter.)
Or they are afraid of being labeled as geeks, because, don't you know, men only love dumb blondes with a D-cup who read Cosmo:D
Disclaimer: I have absolutely nothing against blondes, D-cups or Cosmo, but stereotypes stick to one's mind:P
Well, I'm a Comp. Sci. graduate and I love strategy games, speed and practice sport shooting in my free time, but thank you for re-enforcing the stereotypes!
Not all women are the same, just like not all men are good looking gigolos or hardcore gamers;)
Time. Somebody who is good at interpersonal skills has to spend a *HUGE* amount of time developing and maintaining those skills- time spent at parties and at bars and in social situations. Without that time spent, any human being's interpersonal skills will degrade
That's if you're assuming, like you do, that interpersonal skills have been developed in bars and at parties. Newsflash: some of us have soft skills without clubbing or hanging out every night!
I suggest we start looking in our DNA for Bill Gates' copyright notices.
Good idea! And if the DNA code is somewhat like Vista, we will have put an end to the mystery of reincarnation -- human DNA is impossible to reinstall on the same machine *g*
Well, I'm in Germany, so I thought that if they make me pay for potential TV content, I'll bloody well download it so that the money will be well spent *g*
to understand the world, since as far as we can see, its a deeply f**ked up place, where people kill for fun, where people wage wars because they can and where people do jobs they don't want to do and then moan about it, yet refuse to do anything about it.
Trust me, the world is a f**cked up place for normal (non-autistic, in this case) people as well:)
I love:
1. Warcraft (2, 3 and 3x) -- the story and continuity are fantastic
2. Age of Empires -- for the ancient history aspects and because it's strategy
3. Transport Tycoon -- it has good chillout music as well!
4. Star Wars Pod Racer -- nothing more calming than speed:D
5. ZX Spectrum games (see http://www.worldofspectrum.org/, for instance) which I play via an emulator for the sake of the good old times;)

And every EULA will have a "I swear solemnly I'm up to no good" paragraph :)
No, he hasn't! They could use dismantled replicators to purify water on Atlantis, though :))
But I see there was someone down the thread who actually said they were allergic to a component of the rubber.
Poor Rodney, I bet he'd be allergic to the rubber in the tires as well :))
(Also, YAY! for your mentioning of SGA)
Practically every child in america receives an excessive quantity of homework
You've obviously never been to school in Eastern Europe if you think you have lots of homework in the US.
Mostly because it seems the last person anyone actually asks are women themselves. :)

Actually I was referring to the Wraith from Stargate Atlantis, but this is a very good interpretation as well! :)

This is actually a Wraith virus cunningly encoded in the human genome when the Ancients weren't paying attention!

But only if they get the fuckin' console out by Christmas, dammit. We're impatient.
This is another one of those mind-warping contexts -- after the porn post, I read this as "We're impotent".
