  3. What worries is me on FDA Gets Mixed Advice on Nanotechnology · · Score: 3, Interesting

IS how the tech is going to be implemented. How will the nano-machines know what to do? Through wireless signals? It sounds like a very insecure method to command the little things. Sure, they could potentially be used for extremely great things. But the risk is great too. Same they're killing cancer cells in some kids body. What happens if someone were able to reprogram them to kill other cells? Maybe I'm crazy, but I think the FDA and the developers/engineers REALLY need to have a good system in place for this before it ever takes off.

  4. Since when has Ballmer, or MS cared about rights?! on Ballmer Sounds Off · · Score: 1

How many companies have the squandered just to make a few more bucks? Hmmm. Netscape, Apple, Sun, Lotus, REAL, Roxio, Napster, Creative and I think you get the point. Ballmer is about the largest hypocrite in the industry. He cares SO much about DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS that his new Zune service just screwed several companies out of their money for interfacing with WMP. Not that any of it was worth a damn to the end user. Not to mention he's jealous of Google for completely OWNING them in the Search wars. "I WILL KILL GOOGLE!" (throws chair and does monkey dance)

  5. Re: Rootkits on PS3 Pre-Orders Came and Went · · Score: 1

Were developed by Sony BMG, NOT Sony CE. So, essentially, you're saying you're boycotting an entire company for the stupid decision of one division? So... How many tokens are you holding, Mr. Troll?

  6. If people will pay it... on PS3 Pre-Orders Came and Went · · Score: 1

Then people will pay it. We all saw what happened with the 360 launch (units going for upward of $2K on ebay). Why wouldn't it happen with the PS3? A unit that's even harder to get during the first couple of months, especially close to the holiday season, will easily start to sell for 2K clsoer and clsoer to christmas. Wait... why didn't I go pre-order one? FUCK!

  7. Death of the custom Windows PC. on Microsoft Piracy Plan Means Concerns for IT · · Score: 2, Insightful

So, eseentially, once you have everything registered to Microsoft, and then you say "you know, I think the mobo in this system sucks. I want to upgrade it for Doom 54" all of the software that you had will have to be re-purchased as the new mobo is not registered to the software. That sounds like a GREAT idea! Just like when the Xbox's were kicking people off of XBL when people had replaced their HD's, and the mobo and HD marriage number didn't match what MS's databse said it should... What a fucking disaster this will become. Bravo Microsoft. Bra-Vo.

  8. I suck at math on Different Ways to Conceptualize Math? · · Score: 1

There. I said it. I really, really, truly suck at math. I mean, i can add/subtract and multiply/divide. other than that, I'm horrible at it. I too would be interested if there was another method of learning math so that I could be better with it. Any "out there" suggestions would be welcome. Oh, I'm good with literature, art, history, etc, just so you know what my strengths are (which are commonly opposite that of those who are good with math.) Any help would be truly appreciated.

My mother also raised two children practically by herself while my father was in the military, knows 4, that's right, 4 foreign languages fluently, fought through cancer, and always made sure her family was fed and clothed and sheltered. I don't think she's stupid, I just think she's committed her life to having to remember and know certain things, that she doesn't have time or regularly access the technology world is not a fault. Perhaps it's her best trait.

My parents get the idea of Memory (RAM, or to save those who don't know this acronym: Random Access Memory) for a computer crossed with "memory" (HDD or Hard Disk Drive). I tell my mother "you need more memory" and she instantly freaks out with "I HAVE TO UPGRAD ETHE HARD DRIVE AGAIN?!" No, mom. I still love her.

  11. Maybe I'm the only person on Why Can't Motion and Rumble Get Along? · · Score: 1

But I cannot stand rumble. Every controller I've ever owned I've turned it off. It's a feature that aggrivates me to no end. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that the lack of this feature will dissappoint, as I know a lot of gamers who prefer having the rumble feature. Though, I'm not sure just how many gamers are turned on by the thought of "tilting" to enhance a game, aside from my 55 year old father who seems to sway this way and that, hold the controller waaaaaaaaay out in front of him and stick his tongue out, like most older people do while trying to navigate through any video game.
