Hi...
Most of the replies to this question seem to come down on the "literature" side of SciFi/Fantasy. Don't neglect the "Sci" part, since it's crucial to the genre. And I don't mean the "it's gotta have spaceships" sort of science but stories like Heinlein's "And he built a crooked house" where a "science-y" sort of reading and considering by the reader plays a central role.
Best of luck. Tom
As an owner of both macs and linux/windows pcs, I'll buy vista because I can get rid of half my hardware and run everything on one hardware platform... bios > efi, or so I hope.
Microsoft already allows schools to "re-install" Win 98 and 2000 (sp3) on donated, older computers in the US. One registers, gets install media from Microsoft, tracks use, etc.
What does this do to the possible use of Linux in making older PCs useful in a school setting?
"It seems in France, all CDs, hard drives, and the like owe musicians money in case any of it is used for piracy."
Does that mean that organizations like the RIAA are prohibited from suing music downloaders because the musicians have already been paid by the state (perhaps through some industry group), or is this just a tax?
What version of XFree86 is shipping with this release of Gentoo? Any statements about the licensing issues some are having with the latest XFree86 release?
