Most companies won't touch it...if they're running on Linux, they're going to go with a language that's native to the platform, like Java. If you're a home user, most relevant software written in .NET isn't going to work with it. This just seems like an extremely futile attempt. Is Miguel hoping that one day Microsoft will say "hey, we really like what you've been doing...come work for us!"?

Having too many apps open would result in one choppy ass experience because of the FSB getting clogged up (due to the complete lack of any inner-core pipe, and thus all that traffic was simply sent over the FSB). I'm doing it using 2 non-symmetrical video cards though (nvidia gtx260 and an nvidia gtx580..the 2 smaller monitors connect to the 260 and my bigger 24" connects to the 580). I was surprised how Windows 7 handled it right out of box with the previous nvidia drivers already installed. Since it's not an SLI setup, I can't actually use both cards to render graphics while gaming, but I do have the option to offload PhysX processing to the 260 (for games that actually use it...which isn't many).

People connecting to your public wifi network would be allowed only access to the Internet, and nothing else on your network (we don't want people snooping through your porn now do we).

Absolute rubbish. Our previous software architect is easily the most brilliant software engineer that I have ever met and he didn't even have a bachelors degree. Now he's giving lectures about functional programming at campuses across the US (including MIT) and is a co-author of a book of the same subject matter (that will probably end up making an appearance on Slashdot in a few years).

On the flip side, I've seen people with a Master's in CS that couldn't even handle a SysAdmin gig. Just having the credentials doesn't necessarily make you a rock star in your field of study, it takes the willingness to push yourself and a genuine interest in what you're doing.

Not to shit on your parade, but I'd imagine the reason why you couldn't advance too far from "Senior SysAdmin" is simply because you either lack the proper skills for software development/engineering, or just simply don't push yourself hard enough to do something better.

They only become a problem once somebody threatens legal action against you, which is usually the result of already being a market player and becoming successful (you can't get blood from a turnip, right?). It seems to me that for a company not based in the US, the worst that could happen (that the US could actually enforce) would be to grant an injunction against your infringing product(s), preventing it's sale within the borders of the US. You still keep all the money you've made.
