From the FAQ
"
Is everything that was on the Watcom CD available for free download?
No. The commercial versions of the Watcom C/C++ and Fortran compilers contained licensed copies of the Windows SDK, Microsoft Foundation Classes, OS/2 Toolkit and other commercial tools. Due to licensing issues, those components cannot be made freely available. Hence in order to utilise the 11.0c binary patch release, you will need an official copy of the 11.0, 11.0a or 11.0b installation CD.

Read the FAQ first please The release of the path itself shows that the project is under development and it is not dead. However the project needs to solve its legal issues which WILL take time.
i am not a developer nor have any contacts or relationships or sex with sybase or scitechsoft. Thank you!
given the huge base of products with usb 1.0.. and all the pc's that are currently sold with usb ports, forwards and backwards compatibility of usb 2.0 is one feature that will make a difference in this "battle".. all the devices that are usb 2.0 capable can also be used on the current usb 1.0 ports..
i don't know why.. maybe because somehow
frank herbert used arabic words adjacent to the desert freiman warriors.. the freiman warriors
sound exactly like the afghans..
" they will throw your babies at you and fight till their deaths " ??? remember this ??
ofcourse and its good to know that MS ships the product with 65000 bugs that was never attended to !!!! thank you so much for reminding me. And does anybody know if this is true. that the number of bugs in a system increases with the number of lines of code ? 100,000 bugs mean that the code is growing ? or 100,000 bugs mean that attention is paid to the product ? or hopefully it will be fixed ? maybe i should compare the feedback recieved to an MS product, how its handled by techsupport after hours on the hold. to bugzilla ? enlighten me please.
or just use the wheel.. to go thru the page..
you wouldnt' be moving the mouse so often.. they would have less data to track you..
but i use the mouse a lot to check the link which points it to before i click..
does that mean that they'd think i was gonna click that page ?? there are still more issues like this.. and they would have a lot of data.. and little information.. from something like this.. and they would have a lot of data to mine to get something valuable.. and i dont' think it would be used against a person that easily..
hmmm.. making mods is cool stuff.. really u get to learn a lot.. check out planetquake.com and the sites hosted there.. that reminds me.. we can make a mod to teach kids how to make mods and do battle.. kinda like robowars.. but simpler than the current methods used in quake.. with an ide.. gosh.. it's got me itchy:)
i was developing some php pages and i'm used to creating all pages by hand using vim.. but after using visual basic for a while( yes.. go ahead flame me ).. i juss wish i could draw the input boxes on the php page and go ahead with my coding.. i mean.. why waste time doing it by hand when u are a point and click away ? and ofcourse.. when your ide draws it for you.. you are sure that it doesnt' have any spelling mistakes.. we should learn to use both modes of programming.. i'd hate it if i don't have sed and awk for quick changes to the source..
What does an IRC network has got to do anything with battlebots. Battlebots is a trademark and i think this decision was firm and accurate. I bet Battlebots.org was just rooting for some money from the original battlebots. This isn't the same when some people's names are used as URL's and have been taken away. That was downright unfair. But this is not. Its not easy to draw lines anywhere, and this isn't about the money. Its about a trademark of an organization with which its represented. Its not easy being famous when everybody wants to steal your name. With all the Bruce Perens with different real ID's its so obvious. is it not ?
if you could get just the import/export filters working for word documents prior to 2000.. i'm happily going to change my department(50 users) to star office and linux.. the only thing that keeps me from doing is the number of documents that are already stored.. and the need to regularly exchange documents with other departments...
How is NOW different from Mosix ?? Mosix offers solutions that can take your processes across the network and process them on computers that are not busy. Making your whole network look like one giant scalable computer. How is NOW different from this?. Mosix is working and available. Maybe Progeny should have worked with the mosix team instead of reinventing the wheel. Also it would be a lovely day indeed when we'd get to have Plan 9 like namespaces into the linux kernel. Making it a truly network OS. lets hope someone bitches bout it loud enough so that sometime in the near future ( 2.5 ?? ) linus would think about it...
actually the whole concept of modern (70's, 80's,90's included) electronics is based on clock cycles, counting the clock. anybody who has ever taken a basic course in electronics would know that. taking this into account , it would very difficult to break away from three generations of mental violation. tell them that you could do a lot in one clock cycle and the creativity is to do more in one clock cycle. that's why we have the 5k contest right?
why not include a DirectX emulation ?? it would be easier on his OS since its not tied to X and input devices are not a seperately controlled.. if he could do that could this be the next gaming platform ?? now that would be serious competition..
that said.. i'd like to see more choices in some of the distributions.. i think XFS, ReiserFS, JFS and Ext3 are mature enough to be included in some distributions like Mandrake.. That way we could get them to be tested in the "real world".. Thats the only way we could get these filesystems to be mature.
ofcourse its the migration path. Users can choose to install ext3 and later if they want to they can choose to go back to ext2. forward and backwards compatiblity makes ext3 a much more friendly jouraling filesystem for businesses. Some of the intranet servers cannot risk to backup and hope the new filesystem to go up working alright. Ofcourse there are better journaling filesystems out there. But the choice to use ext3 is good one since, its mature, stable and easier to administrate and use. Easier to administrate and use the keywords here. Any kernel out there can read an ext3 partition without extra modules. So it definitely plays well with others. Is there any other journaling filesystem that can say this ?

when will you people realize that code red is not just another worm that will fade away soon.. code red makes not only IIS webservers vulnerable.. but any service with an available exploit. i'm talking about the "code red algorithm" that it uses to scan the ip's and spread so fast. this is what makes code red so special.. and this is why we'll be having more of this soooner than you guys think.. its DDOS days all over again..
Hello All,
I wrote KGesture the other day. It is a gesture recognition application
for KDE. As far as I know, it is the first of its kind and offers
something MS doesn't.
Problem 1:
KGesture relies heavily on DCOP to communicate with running applications.
Most of the feedback that I have been getting back from users is that they
can't do what they want because the application doesn't make it available.
I was wondering what the possibility of increasing the number of methods
available in a stub is? Does performace take a hit as the number of
methods in an interface increases?
For example, most users want back() and next() from Konqueror exposed so
they can control the browser with gestures. Also, minimizing applications
(I suppose through a KWin interface).
What are the chances of getting these exposed? Is KGesture going about
this the wrong way?
Problem 2:
Currently users must use the 'dcop' command to find the method they want
to trigger. Is there a DCOP browser out there, or a widget that builds a
tree from DCOP information?
Letting the user easily select a dcop function would be a big plus.
If your interested, KGesture can be found here:
http://www.slac.com/~mpilone/projects/
It started as a little adventure in stroke recognition, but people seem to
like it, and it is a new approach to computer interaction (at least on the
desktop with a mouse! CAD apps have been doing it with a pen forever).
Thanks in advance,
-mike

whatis 10% of 2 million ??
.. they said.. the system supported 10% of 2million concurrently
.a.k.a. hard disk space..and the limits on sendmail.
i've hate to break it to you

it was the amount of storage that could be given away
