html aside, has anybody ever opened an ftp site with opera. try it. then with ie and mozilla. and you'll know why it's the fastest browser on earth, even when browsing ftp sites.
i had an overclocked 233Mhz machine three years ago. unfortunately the motherboard fried when the fan stopped working. and the cdrom on it, which i still use, has an aweful noise. i dont' know how high the temperature was inside it when i opened. but i know it was REALLY HOT! cos i got a slight burn on my fingers from the processor. back then it was usual in asia to get overclocked processors when buying 'clone' machines. and the buyer doesn't even know that he is getting an overclocked machine.
i've never seen a pc on fire, even though i've seen an old 486 processor charcoal black.

more like convince developers to develop both for windows and linux. i know its an extra effort but that's the only way it could start.
another way is to get hardcore gamers to like linux with games. that way they can b*tch about how linux improved their shooting accuracy. and convince the mass of newbies to just buy linux. even though they'll never use it.

the sesame street was also dubbed in arabic and shown in saudi arabia for several years.. i can remember watching it in arabic when we were kids.. they used to call bert "baduru" or something..
The reason why there has been little Real World(tm) development of alternative energy is that nobody in the U.S goverment or the big energy cooperations wants to develop it. They would rather depend on oil trade, which btw is the biggest industry in the world(except the shady arms deals). And research into alternative energy costs a lot of money. A viable alternative would rip the industry apart. The same story as microsoft and open source development. If we can develop a truly useful, safe and environment friendly alternative or an alternative with lower destruction of the environment, and/or something thats significantly safer we would still have to convince the use of it by the goverments of the world. And that is not likely to happen with most of the goverments in the pockets of the oil sheiks. It is not surprising that Texas would try to stop such research into alternative energy. Lets destroy the world brothers. We could live happily in our lifetime. Whoever wants to think of the planet and its children and the children of the children and their children.
