Once again, nothing in these new iPhones to make me want to upgrade my iPhone 4. Apple realizes it too, hence the Apple apps giveaway. I'm even closer now to ditching the 4 in favor of anything made by Samsung.
This is the same flawed mentality that has prevented Linux on the desktop from becoming more popular/usable.
Instead of listening to criticism and using it to improve the software, it's disregarded/discarded because it's the easiest option.
"So and so doesn't know what he's talking about. Meh."
Thousands of beta-testers over the years have been completely ignored because a small handful of geeks have been able to manually fix the crap that didn't work, after the fact, and just don't care to put the time in to make it work out of the box.
Being a Linux Developer is meaningless if the product they put out is crapware.
Isn't this just a rehash of a similar instance last year? IIRC, I logged into my account @ Verizon last year and set my 'Opt out'.
Just checked again and it's still 'Don't Share My CPNI'.
So they've updated their TOS... NOT news.
I concur with leaving in the About box, and nowhere else. The only people concerned with looking for a version number would be those who need to know if this is an upgrade from their current version.
Nothing in any of the reports I've read said anything about the license being "partially burned"... and the hoaxer had so much money laying around he decided he'd add $1,000 to the find?
Lots of stuff in Linux is broken, has been broken, and will continue to be broken as long as developers know how to spend a minute to fix their own, and simply move on to creating new and shiny stuff.
They assume you know how to spend the same minute, but that's seldom the case.
What you end up with is crapware, but by golly it'll do a lotta stuff, albeit poorly.
... refocus efforts on fixing stuff that's supposed to work instead of creating new stuff that doesn't work, and I'm not talking about obscure hardware drivers for devices that nobody uses.
Karamba/Superkaramba has been around for years, with widely distributed widgets that transform a Linux desktop into something that very closely resembles OSX. Did I miss something? Apple doesn't want to anger the Linux community?
I'll have a worthy response to this as soon I'm done realigning my KDE desktop icons (because I just rebooted) and hitting the arrow keys to keep the screen from blanking. I'm almost to the magic number (whatever it is) of arrow key hits to keep it alive for the rest of the day.
... how long it will take before pop-up ads start appearing (even with pop-ups blocked) for additional add-on pop-up blocking software ($$) via their new IE add-ons venture.
Do any fee-based extensions even exist for Firefox?

There's no "requiring" anyone to do anything, as long as the oil and gas companies are exempt from the Clean Water Act.

Please someone show me one ad for Vista that didn't feature Aero. Aside from "enhanced security", that's all people were buying it for.
As I understand it, Dish Networks has pushed upgrades to their units, resolving any infringment issues. Deactivating DVRs isn't on the table.

Dear Rigor Morty, DELETED. -SB
They've given up on Windows?
I'm in the process of this very thing... on a much larger scale... in my dining roo+++NO CARRIER

When presented with copywright holder's request to remove material, isn't it always granted? Hard to do that when you don't host it.
