    I'm using shared web hosting. The webhost provides FTP access, perl, python, RoR, PHP, MySQL,Curl and all the usual stuff and a lot of storage and bandwith. Is there any OSS stuff I can install on the server that have good clients for win, linux and maybe even android?

    I've read the bill and it is supposed to be enough to set the browser to allow cookies. The bill actually does not mention cookies at all. It is more generic to be technology independent.

    Is it just the traditional HTTP cookie? HTML-5 will let all kinds of data to be stored on clients and then you can use one of the techniques behind Evercookie!
    I've read the bill and it seems possible that the consent can be given by setting the browser to allow cookies. So this will do nothing. Do not track headers is much better!

    Spotify is the best service I ever used. I got it on my android phone, can sync 3000+ songs for offline use. I can use the native linux-client, I got it at work on my windows box. The only thing I miss is an ARM version for my Sheeva-plug. It can import my local music library. All this for 10€ a month. What else could I want?

    I'm looking for the same service for video but can't find it.

    I can sync with my company's exchange-server with android 2.1 (HTC probably added some stuff). It enforces remote wiping and if it wasn't for LockPicker I would have to type a password EVERY time I want to use the phone

    There are clients for Mac, Windows and Linux. There are your syncing solution. Backup the data should not be a problem. Maybe the TonidoPlug as a home server? Its a sheevaplug running Ubuntu with Tonido-software.

    No. They would be crazy to use this scheduler anyway since it won't scale to their 4096 cpu machines. The only way is to rewrite it to work that way, or to have more than one scheduler in the kernel. I don't want to do the former, and mainline doesn't want to do the latter. Besides, apparently I'm a bad maintainer, which makes sense since for some reason I seem to want to have a career, a life, raise a family with kids and have hobbies, all of which have nothing to do with linux.

    Well, the creators of the music gets LESS than the credit card company per download. A Swedish artist sad in an interview that he got Euro 0.03 ($0.044) per download on itunes (price per dl ~Euro 1). That was not nearly enough to make a living on. To him it did'nt matter if the song were downloaded on p2p or itunes.

    Non the less, this is good news!

    Well, I know that at least Kopete have PGP-encrypted chat. It automagically encrypt/decrypt messages using public-key/private-key. I think it's DSA or RSA keys, pretty secure...

    In Sweden you can get up to 7,2 Mbit/s over 3G (UMTS) and between 300 kbit/s and 1 Mbit/s in the most remote areas through NMT. Works pretty well, especially with a directional antenna. I think you should look for something similar where you are.

    Yes, KDEs Ktorrent has a plugin that does this. Last time I checked the iPhone has ssh through some web 2.0 thing and that would let you control just about any CLI app.
