Does anyone know if it's ok to donate old software, or does this violate alla them EULA's?

Hence the "in the default install" portion of the phrase...

That said, I've been working with OpenBSD quite a bit, and kind of wondered about FTP myself, until some of the older members of the userbase pointed out that FTP should probably be abandoned in favor of SCP or SFTP. So, there certainly are alternatives...

As for DHCP, I personally hate DHCP; I've never met a DHCP server that played well with others. Plus, as a control freak, it's far easier for me to go in and specify exactly what IP addresses I'd like a particular adapter to be using at any given time...

There is no way of securing a system, if the administrator doesn't know not to install insecure packages, or at least lock them down. You got me there...but for what it is, OpenBSD is pretty tight.

I never said you pirated their software.

How can you say that software should be licensed to users, but not content? They are both creations of people or corporations, transmitted in digital format, illegal to distribute, and easy to reproduce digitally. It amounts to proclaiming that the works of programmers are somehow inherently more valuable than the works of musicians, movie directors, composers, and artists.

If you think that circumventing copy protection on movie files is justified, then why does it matter whether or not your copy of Windows 2000 is licensed or not?

Who the hell are you to judge him on this? Where is your web site? Higher quality, sharper, and a cooler form factor.

The PC flat panels, and there were 6-7 of them, all looked like shit next to it. I guess the PCC manufacturers think specs are more impressive than a good-looking product... I'm going to hold off on flat panels for now is all I'm saying.
