"...As we said late last year, we built goo.gl with a focus on quality. With goo.gl, every time you shorten a URL, you know it will work, it will work fast, and it will keep working."
In an effort to one up the silly Canadians, members of the elite engineering squad at Ivy University X have crafted an ornithopter of their own which is powered by sitting on your fat ass watching "Keeping up with the Kardashians." It is believed that this vehicle will provide a more feasible means of transportation for most Americans.
"I, like many of you, am scratching my head wondering how people still think this way."
What do you think the most likely reason for people to disbelieve geocentrism is? Is it 1) They understand the scientific evidence for and against it and have come to the conclusion themselves or 2) they were taught that it was an incontrovertible truth at some point during their education?
It seems that lots of people fail to realize that the prevailing scientific theories are only our best guesses at this point in time. Maybe next week we'll discover a planet on which gravity does not function the way Newton described it and there will be a "Newton was Wrong" conference...
Ten years from now, all houses will have built in niches of this shape. These niches will be placed to allow greatest view of the entire room and the televisions will come with a complimentary webcam that is always on.
That's what it USED to be. Back when it was restricted to university students, I could just browse people that went to my school and randomly friend/message them. Worked fairly well... now pokes have fallen out of favor and are considered "creepy." Sigh... I miss the good ol' days.;)
"...neurologists are working to extinguish the orgasm; the mental energy required for prolonged worship requires authoritarian suppression of the libido, a vital instinct."
I wish wikileaks would only post high profile stuff like this if it was really mind-blowing. If the US gov't decides it cannot deal with this directly by going after wikileaks, what do you think the next step will be? Maybe they will try to further discourage the outflow of information from the US agencies with random lie-detector tests, a la Snow Crash... I'm just not sure pissing off the US gov't is worthwhile if the content of these documents is essentially meaningless.
You people amuse me. You are completely unable to evaluate the merit of one idea without carrying it to a completely ridiculous conclusion.
Like I stated before, I don't think making BAC meters mandatory on every car is a good idea; I was simply asking for people's opinions on why it would be a bad idea. I, however, don't think it is my God-given right to get shit faced and careen around in a metal box.
I entered a link to shorten and clicked OK and it displayed that.
Ok, so apparently "fast" is an adverb. It just sounds awkward to me.
quickly
"...every time you shorten a URL, you know it will work, it will work fast..."
Apparently their legions of PhDs can't figure out how to use adverbs properly.
"...As we said late last year, we built goo.gl with a focus on quality. With goo.gl, every time you shorten a URL, you know it will work, it will work fast, and it will keep working."
404: Page not found – the page http://goo.gl/action/shorten does not exist.
If you typed in or copied/pasted this URL, make sure you included all the characters, with no extra punctuation.
"The consortium, aptly named GIANT for Genetic Investigation of ANthropometric Traits."
-_-
...Google started crying about antitrust issues.
"And, really, there's nothing wrong with using a 386, if it's fast enough."
NO. I need a quad Xeon to check my email and use a text editor!! ;)

What an eloquent lawyer:
"Your anticipated cooperation is anticipated."
...but it sounds Bohring. Sorry.
...and the cover art is god awful but the content should be interesting.
If we lived on that planet, we might be gazing covetously at Earth for its core of iron.

If they had "predicted" this 12 to 18 months ago it might be a different story.

I'm pretty sure Azureus/Vuze and mutorrent both allow you to set upload speed to 0.0 Kb/s. At least they did a few years ago.
Can Google keep its hands off ANYTHING?

Subtract 26 from the current year and then read it.
"...neurologists are working to extinguish the orgasm; the mental energy required for prolonged worship requires authoritarian suppression of the libido, a vital instinct."
That sounds legal...

Maybe they'll try to charge more for it than the standard iPad claiming that it's lighter and more compact. Coming soon: iPad Air
