well would be nice and fast assuming EVERYONE had that kinda connection:P what we REALLY need is subspace relays ala star trek;) remember that the computers on star trek have a subspace field around them...so you think 1GHz is fast? their computers run at Warp 3.36 (~50c if i recall)
well acshully i think it CAN do all that...this is just the previous one w/ some flashy features added...it can play soccer etc, even apparently hula dance for you:P i'd love to see that!:P gotta be weird
my 2nd fav part of these dogs is there motor actuator system, and my 1st afv part is the emotion system it uses (basically 6 emotions, each have a weight, all adding up to 100% of its emotions and certain emotions will counteract other emotions...emotions are created by outside stimuli and are presented to the outside world by the bot's behavior...at least thats how it werks as i understand it:P)
"Robots in Japan are seen as very compelling things, unlike in the U.S., where they seem cold and harsh." unless youre an american that watches lotsa anime and/or manga:)
oh puh-LEASE...what 5 year old kid looks for phallic symbols in cartoons? I think Freud et al needed a can of whoop-ass opened on them...now everything ppl see are symbols of something!
specicialized toolkit objects is what subclassing is for
i dont wanna start a flame war but i think gtk is way too bloated for its own good (low size/efficiency ratio)...thats just MY opinion. QT is somewhat better and with the upcoming widget themeing for QT/KDE, more configurable looks should get rid of those god-aweful looking Motif-style widgets (those should be outlawed:P)
views expressed are MINE and probably not YOURS, so dont go gettin your panties in a wad over what i say:P
so we decide to roll out a distro...will it be KDE or Gnome (if any GUI)?:P THERES a quick way to kill a distro, with 176 thousand flames over what to use and what not to use
surfin the net? hmm i think if it tried to make sense of people based on all the web sites out there plus news groups and all that, i think its brain would melt...i know *I* try not to think about it all, makes MY cranium wanna explode.
yeah those UPS guys are total idiots...i bought BeOS and bedepot.com only ships w/ UPS. i was AT HOME and the UPS guy never rang the door bell or knocked or anything...fucker. anyway about a week later and calling UPS and Be Inc, back and forth, it finally came and i now enjoy BeOS:) took long enuff!
considering those damn 50 ft banners i saw driving to werk every morning saying that they are using NT...just kinda pissed me off :P

oops...damn white spaces didnt come thru...
:P
/system
|-./bin
'-./etc
/users
|-./root
|---./apps (GUI apps)
|---./admin (GUI admin tools)
'-./guest
mayhaps that helps
"There is no spoon" - Neo, The Matrix
regarding file locations, i REALLY think linux needs to use a more modern directory tree, i.e. has system dirs, user dirs etc...say:
./bin
./etc
./root
./apps (GUI apps)
./admin (GUI admin tools)
./guest
/system
/users
and so on and so forth....get what i mean? kinda clean up the organization...but thats just my tastes
