First of all, no planet, no matter how 'big-boned' would date Pluto now that he is no longer a planet. They would lose all street cred.
Poor Pluto used to at least get some dates when he was still considered a planet, but now he's lucky if he can hook up with a comet every now and then...
The fact is that when GNU/Linux is being pushed by large companies, the more people start to see it as a serious operating system and viable option, rather than a specialized nerd toy.
Any step against the microsoft stranglehold is a good step for all consumers.
I have a macbook and dual-boot with OSX and Ubuntu. They both serve different purposes, but together, for me, cover everything I could ever need to do. It's good to see that Ubuntu is bringing Linux to some attention, and exposing a lot more average consumers to the Linux side.
Linux is definitely desktop ready, and is advancing at a pace far beyond any of the alternatives, especially as Ubuntu has become the poster boy of Linux, more and more people are becoming involved.
Soon, Linux (maybe Ubuntu, maybe some other flavor) will become a dominant force in the personal computer market, which will lead to better support from hardware companies (I'm looking at you, ATI) and better software.
That is exactly the reason behind me recently getting a macbook. kudos to apple for swallowing some pride and opening their hardware to their competitor's software. I think it will help them as a company, because, after all, they are mostly in the hardware business.
Now, I'm not interested in running Windows on my mac, but dual booting linux is certainly a huge selling point for me.
The actual point is that the human mind has infinitely many combinations of motivations in poker. In chess, motivation matters little, because there are a distinct, finite number of moves each turn. poker, in the other hand, could have people do things that make little sense in the minds of their opponents, but are really part of a more complex strategy. Perhaps a computer could study people's tendencies and have a good idea of what they are going to do, but until computers can read minds, humans will be able to beat them in poker through bluffs and deception.
I guess humans are #1 when it comes to lying.
That is my strategy for buying games too... I borrow them from my friends when they buy them new, and buy them when they hit low prices. The thing I am most disappointed about is that the 'platinum hits' now cost 29.99 instead of 19.99 and the packaging is even more hideous this generation...
I don't understand bumping the price of these titles up $10 just because new they are bumped up that much. Maybe a $5 increase would've been warranted, but $30.00 hardly feels like a bargain to me...
Hmm.. maybe I am missing something, but why would ATI not want their drivers in linux, whether open or not?
I know in my recent purchase of a laptop, if they had an ATI gpu, I ignored it as a choice, as I run Ubuntu, and I want graphics that actually look decent and are able to support 3D.
Hopefully now that a big hitter like Dell is urging them on, they can stop ignoring the growing Linux community.
That intro is fairly awesome... How can an animation of a map turning into a dinosaur and eating people not be the coolest thing? I want to get this redistricting game! When does it come out for the Wii?
Also a plus of that introduction is the dramatic voice that accompanies that quote.

Such as unplugging the computer it is running on?

This is all Activision. Harmonix has moved on to rock band.
