    We've had about 15+ emails, half the time claiming we haven't responded to them yet and therefore we are the cause of the delay, yet quoting our reply in their message back saying we haven't responded.

    People would think this, but when the temp, around 40 F, you can open ducts and turn off the AC. However, you need to crank up the fans to blow around this cold air. There is some savings, however its more of a going Green theme that is appeasing to everyone.

    I think teaching programming is most useful and productive when there is meaningful goal for the program or project. Especially if this is outside of school and there are no grades being handed out.

    Ask him what he would like to create, if it's large, break it down to doable modules. Either way, if you are learning on your own there has to be self-based goal to keep the interest sparked.
