I actually tried to patent this years ago. I thought that with bluetooth and cell phones, coffee shops could display their menu on your cell phone and you could order from there. I thought you could even bill through it securely.
I hired a patent attorney and realized it was patented about 4 years before me...
It is going to be a whole new world once the world is casually tagged with stories, and pictures, etc. Where one can explore without even going outdoors. Personally I think Grapheety is the best at that...
I have found on my site http://www.grapheety.com that we have had the most success seperating these tasks all together. Even though I come from a usability background, when I am coding I have a hard time doing it 'the hard way'. We have a designer who works on this project full-time who does all designs graphically, then we compromise on how to implement them. It has been a great relationship.
I think the trust would go down if it had a single editor. They can be centralized, and bought out like MS is doing, and the likes. I think they need a voting system sort of like http://www.grapheety.com. This would allow people to filter maybe by quality.
I think also the original contributor should have some moderation rights, but not ultimate... Maybe based on your level, you can moderate, or over-moderate other people?
I rarely share photos, but when I do I put them in places where people can find them in some context.
I'd rather use them to help others...

Plus its more fun...
Why is everyone ripping off a naming convention? I hope Flickr and yahoo sue every verb-r rip-off out there. Have some creativity? Most of these -r sites don't even make their own look!
On that same note, I went here: http://grapheety.com/?story=107&zoom=12 to talk to these people waiting in line for a ps3. Someone tried to break into the store for it. Checkout the nuts in front, that should really be a crime.
Wouldn't it be cool to be able to see http://www.grapheety.com with the iPhone. Actually useful maps. You could even use it like a dating service! haha.
It will be interesting to see how long YouTube can stay in the lead for video. It will give other sites like MySpace, Facebook, and Grapheety some way to evaluate themselves. This web 2.0 thing could be making some changes soon...
I think this is a neat application of Google Mapping. Its nice seeing the API being used, as I'm a mapping fan on sites like http://www.grapheety.com and others.

That's why you have to make it incredibly easy, and offer rewards, and fun: http://www.grapheety.com/
I'm surprised they didn't even mention the other big players: http://www.grapheety.com , or http://www.plazes.com.

I wonder what this will mean for other startups? http://www.grapheety.com flagr ?
This has been done by countless sites, including panaramio, flickr.com/maps and http://www.grapheety.com the latter of which is probably the best.

Any project, that lets the people tell the story is incredible.
Where Wikipedia tells the story of history, Grapheety tells the story of the current globe.

The latter being an example of something that really could not exist with Ajax. Amen! :)

I hope its good for the sake of these people.
Can you believe these people who waited all night in line? What a crappy release. They loved getting photographed though.
And am i the only one who has been on their site trying to get the iPod nano in the treasure hunt all day?
