Nobody should have any sort of datacenter in CA cuz it's too hot and the power to cool it is too expensive. Chicago was a far better choice! Plus it's closer to Wisconsin where I live so the response time will be better. That's even more important;)
hey troll, do you think the network comes from the magic network pixie? They rent out their lines to ISPs and they sure as hell don't upgrade the infrastructure much for more capacity when it gets busy. So they're always right on the edge of network meltdown because it's not cost effective to upgrade your entire network to handle 2x what it really needs to. So add in a video service and they have no choice but to upgrade it and that's gonna cost them more in burying lines and replacing network equipment than it would to rent the bandwidth!
I'm taking bets on how long it'll take them before they consider p2p distribution after they use a million gigabytes of bandwidth and it costs them a lot of whatever money they use in Canada...dollars still I think. So yeah, large file download services are kinda expensive which is why MMO patches and Linux images are p2p. *gasp* they use p2p legitamately? Witches! Burn them!
Did they just say they're going to try and get SF to let them build a pilot one in the bay? Um I don't think so. Something tells me they don't want a giant platform parked in their bay taking up a lot of room. They better try another location.
I have kinda bad work-lunch habits. Mostly vending machine stuff, though I don't go calorie crazy with soda and pie and stuff (usually) but it's definitely not healthy. But seriously I can and have tried an all cookie diet for 2 days and I just simply don't gain weight. It's genetic. So not to go all Hitlery on everyone not so lucky but if you have superior genetics like me, you're more likely to be healthy in IT:D plus I got a kick ass immune system so I never call in sick cuz I never am and I have absolutely perfect 15/20+ vision and absolutely don't need glasses. I'm like some kind of mutant super geek hehehe.
I played SRO a while ago and about 90% of the updates were for high level players only cuz they either raised the cap or made new areas with top level monsters available that 95% of the players couldn't step foot in without dying. So pretty much everyone was pissed cuz the top level people run around stomping on everyone most of the time anyway so everyone hated them. Any updates that are good for lower level and mid level characters in any game is way better than cap raises and that sort of thing.
I thought this was a security thing. Like nobody would steal a laptop with your unique fingerprints and entire handprint. Why hasn't anyone done that before?
The headline was actually seriously incorrect. It should read "66% Apple Market Share For Sales of Expensive PCs." Saying high end implies that they're actually fast, good, or comparable to machines running other OSes. The fact that a Linux machine half the cost (or what the heck, a windows one too probably) is the same "speed" sort of throws that statement out the window.
You know what'd be really funny is if it detects when you're concerned about hat hair and automatically jumps off your head. That'd be awesome. I wanna see that!
yeah and who says he shouldn't add springier, half a foot longer ones on? He probably will. There's no olympic rules about standards for equipment that assists your running BECAUSE IT'S ALL ILLEGAL!!! What a cheater. That's right, I'm calling a handicapped person a cheater. Nobody gets a free pass to privileges beyond every other normal person just to be polite and politically correct.
Why didn't they have NASA build it? They're not for profit and always want more money to do stuff. Any company is obviously making money off it while NASA wouldn't be. Plus, they kinda know a bit about space and satellites.
And I'm sure they won't look for ANY copyrighted or potentially dangerous material in the process. Oh no, this is 100% child porn *rolls eyes* talk about a low down, dirty way to ID terrorists and sue people in the name of helping children. What do you really think would happen when they come across all those people who make "how to make a bomb" vids on p2p networks and all the copies of new movies floating around after they get funding for advanced p2p watching technologies. Btw I know it's part web, part p2p too so I'm sure they'll put a few extra terrorist and copyright keywords in that billion dollar web crawler too.
what do they mean not a continuum? Now we're gonna run out of time? I think they need to stop reading A Tale of Time city where time's a big horseshoe that a city can ride on. Time has never reversed or looped or anything crazy like that before so why would it now? Just cuz some "scientists," and I use that term lightly, make some money by making up crazy shit about time doesn't make it true. That and the whole you can't measure it so quantum effects are in a state of flux and I dare you to try and prove me wrong stuff really needs to go away cuz it's a waste of funding. How about an actual, real solution. Just cuz information is stuck in a black hole doesn't mean it's gone, it just means it's in the black hole forever. If you send an object flying through empty space, it'll keep moving forever if nothing stops it. Kinda the same thing except in a black hole. Who says it has to come out? It's permanently stored but it's there.
welcome to the internet, now STOP COMPLAINING. Holy shit you people are annoying. What is your problem with acronyms and other shorthand formats? You can read them, you know what they say, SO STFU!
Critics are morons. Every movie I've ever done to see and checked Yahoo Movies for, the critic and users ratings have been opposite. IMDB is the same way if you consider the ratings before it actually comes out. Epic movie had an 8.6 by opening day! And a 2.3 a week later. Yahoo critics rated Epic movie like a B- or something and users gave it a D-. And they had the balls to give other movies I and other really liked really low ratings. They watch too many movies and they're douchebags so people should really stop listening to critics.
Yeah, I know. We better not sell them our facial recognition technology or they could track people like one big Britain! jk, they'd just return it claiming it didn't work;) rofl
P.S. if you don't get that, you're dumb
Who wrote this article? If you combine the headline and the last setence is basically says "SP3 screwes up some AMD and Intel systems." Gee, you think? Totally biased against AMD if you ask me. You don't just kinda mention "oh yeah, it breaks some intel ones too" at the very end after making it sound like AMD has some huge problem.
LEARN HOW TO READ! All I said was this particular gloom and doom bullshit is overstated and shouldn't be as feared as they're making it sound. Where the hell did you get "all viruses aren't dangerous" out of that? All I'm saying is every virus can be detected. All these new "unstoppable supervirus: we're all gonna die!" articles are idiotic and wrong.
Oh boy, I love ridiculously overly dramatic BS! Yes it's very easy for it to hide there and for there to be basically no signs that it's there. OMG everyone run for the hills! Oh wait, malware doesn't just sit there, it does stuff. It runs threads, it reads from and writes files on the hard drive, and it has to at some point send some sort of data over the internet or local network. So yeah, no virus can hide and still cause damage and spread while remaining undetected.
This article is ridiculous. Here's a question for anyone who's passed ohhhh about the 6th grade. What is the one and only thing that has ever helped companies servive a depression? Well besides military contracts, inventions and new technology! If they wanted to make money while the economy is bad, the last thing they should ever do is sit on their current technology. People don't buy more of what they already have if they don't need to. They want something far better! So logically there must be another reason for it not catching on immediately and this article is a load of BS and incorrect speculation
Well then hopefully they'll factor in the amount of CO2 given off from generating the electricity to run these processors. Just because they're more power efficient doesn't mean they run on magic. This is like taking a bus ride across the country to protest all the CO2 given off by vehicles.
more like power plants are idiotically designed to not be scalable and when they fail to supply enough power, they blame the customers. It's not like it came as some big shock that people use more power during the day than at night. They knew it, they didn't plan for it when they built the plant, so it's 100% their fault and they should fix it without forcing the customers to fix it for them.
How idiotic is this? Yeah, I wanna go reset all my digital clocks every time I turn my house off. What a ridiculously stupid idea. But wait, there's more! It'd turn non-battery security alarm systems off when you're away. Not a good idea. If you turn your power off overnight and a fire starts, you can't turn on the lights to see how to get out. Just dumb.
but do you know what the lag time is for a Mars datacenter? Over 480,000 milliseconds lol. I guess data centers that run on martian magic and martian crust devil slaves are out. But this whole study is BS anyway because it assumes that we know all computer, energy, processing, storage, and other hardware upgrades that will happen in the future. Could people 12 years ago predicted what we have now. Not even remotely close. Dual core processing? Water cooling? Cooling that runs on chip heat? Sorcery I tell you!
Nobody should have any sort of datacenter in CA cuz it's too hot and the power to cool it is too expensive. Chicago was a far better choice! Plus it's closer to Wisconsin where I live so the response time will be better. That's even more important ;)

the insurance companies went broke too so not really. Yes, I do pick apart jokes in a completely serious manner lol.
