The DSL set-up by Bell Canada is quite bad the maximum bandwidth is regulated so you can only get around 128k/sec. The cable service by Videotron is a nice smooth 2MEG/sec for $30 Canadian.
I'm a person who can speak Japanese and Canadian-English fluently, Aye. (Long story short my parents are Japanese but I was born and raised in Montreal).
I don't understand everybodys obsession with the japanese language track. Princess Mononoke was hard enough to follow in Japanese even if you know the language, why struggle to read subtitles and try to understand the language. I understand that some English dubs suck big time, but which is better understanding the story, or asthetics???
I also totally disagree that watching Mononoke in Japanese is a way to learn about contemporary Japanese culture. The culture portrayed in Mononoke is a mishmash of Japanese time periods and a number of other things added. Anyone who thinks that Mononoke is an accurate picture of Japanese culture of anytime is gravly mistaken.
I'm not against the Japanese dub being included, don't get me wrong I just don't understand why its so important. So please tell me why.
Because it would cost a lot. When you have an agreement with the company they would give you the OS for like 10 bucks a pop. As opposed to buying the OS at the store for about 85 dollars, without tax. Also it probably would've been illegal for them to do that since they aren't resellers, or something like that.
I'm an Apple fan (not fanatic). I like the Mac because I grew up on them my first computer was a Mac. I agree with many of your points are valid. But some of the others aren't completly valid.
First of all the fact that Apple has Closed hardware and Closed software isn't a good argument. A great majority computer software/hardware is still closed, and I don't believe that Closed should not necessarily equal bad. In fact Apple is one of the few major companies that opened some of their software.
The bad hardware argument is valid, but many problems have been fixed. As you noted powerbooks have had a lot of quality problems, and Apple got out of printers all togather.
"Inability to update their software with modern necessities" Well isn't the whole point of MacOS X to modernize their OS and other software.
The decision to pull clone licenses pissed me off when I first heard of it. However you have to remember that Apple was losing money and the couldn't afford competition from clones.
I don't mind the price I think their worth it. Others will disagree and I see their point. Its a matter of opinion.
I do agree that Apple doesn't do much for its developers and that look and feel lawsuits are stupid for obvous reasons.
Bungie has posted a FAQ at their site. Although most of it could be considered PR and can't be trusted, it is an interesting read. It also raises an interesting point that, if the staff doesn't like M$ they can always walk away.

MS has done some mac software.
Thats true, but not mac games. All of Microsoft's games were ported by a different company to Mac were they not? Most notably Age of Empires.
