Maybe it is time that we think ahead a bit and introduce some laws that protect the rights of clones (ie. that they are human just like anyone else and *must* be treated as such).
Maybe also a law about genetic privacy (ie no one can clone you without your permission; yeah, I know it won't stop the Illuminati, but...I think it would be good anyway:).
Granted laws don't really stop anyone who would want to do these things, but at least it would give us legal power to seek damages if they were caught.
I usually play the game while in Afterstep, but it does run faster without a wm. Hehe. This probably has something to do with all of the pixmaps in my Afterstep theme. Also note that when I run it under AS, I can switch between any apps with no lag at all on the pii 400. I often go between civ and browsing/.
*shrug* To each his own, I suppose. I think Loki did a damn fine job with the port and I'm quite happy with my purchase.
This is eventually going to have to be settled in the Supreme court. I wonder how long that is going to take. Whatever way it goes, I would rather know for sure than having to guess what some state my traffic is going through might want.
Perhaps you could enlighten me as to the nature of VFS...
I run on a 32bit arch (kernel 2.2.8) and grep'ing through/var/log/all for VFS gives a bunch of stuff like: Jun 2 17:46:43 frank kernel: VFS: Disk change detected on device fd(2,0) Jun 2 21:21:36 frank kernel: VFS: Disk change detected on device ide1(22,0)
grep VFS/var/log/all | wc -l counts 297 lines, and the uptime is only about a day (I just got back to school after taking some time off to work. God I love being back on ethernet.)
Seems like the VFS layer is alive and kicking on my intel box.
None of the quakes after the first offered much. I got Q1 to run on a 486 (even tho the box says it required a p75).
Gotta have that crazy 3d card to run anything new these days. I tried Q2 on my pII 400 256mb ram and it still wasn't as good as Q1 on a p233 32mb ram (no 3d card in either). *shrug*
I remember a friend of mine telling me how nice the walls and scenery looked in the newer fps games (u, q[2,3],...]). Big deal. If I played quake and spent time looking at the walls I would be fragged in a heartbeat. I only see motion when I play fps games anyway.:)
because the most expensive part of any server is still the system admin.
Meaning we are worth more, that is, if Linux is more expensive than NT, even with having to pay for NT.
Maybe if we could convince would-be NT admins that they could make a lot more money doing *nix admin, we could get them to refuse admin NT. Show them that they are settling for the short end of the stick by going NT.
How is this even different from buying software? It is just a collection of bits on your hd (which in most cases can be taken away from you without much, if any notice [or whatever terms are stated in the eula]). What do you really own? A cheap cd with bits on it you might not even be able to legally use.
These days radio stations aren't worth the time it takes to change the station.
Do they honestly think that by playing the same tired crap over and over people will start to like it?
Oh wait, maybe they are right. People are stupid.
Think of the Beowulf clust.e....r.......
SIGBADHUMOR received: Program terminated.
How is it?
Link to a review, perhaps?

Any thoughts on this?
Well, ya know... Gotta stay updated.
:)
Not to mention having to replace about a trillion albums.
And who wants to 'scratch' on a cd anyway. Isn't really scratching. Long live vinyl, baby!

Later on in the game it helps a lot to ditch trade animations.
Run it without a window manager or desktop environment (if you aren't already).
.xinitrc with this one line:
.xinitrc just in case.
Basically replace what is in your
/usr/local/games/CivCTP/civctp
(or whatever path you put civctp in).
You might want to back up your old
I run only Afterstep, and removing it helps Civ out a LOT on my pii 400.

?
I would hate to live in a large city with a bunch of people flying one of those.
Most people can hardly drive, much less fly.
I hope they come equiped with photon torpedoes.
"Aggrrrr! You cut me off!"
Thank you.

Sigh. Yet another instance of moderation gone too far. I would like to hear the moderators reasons for lowering my post.
And as you get better and better at setting up and maintaining linux, help others out who don't know as much.
If some of the big shots helps you out on something, remember what they told you and pass it on.
"Who gaurantee's[sic] 99.9% uptime for Linux ?"
Me.
Or your money back.
Oh wait. You didn't pay for it. At best you paid for the packaging of some distro.
*shrug* Oh well. Who needs a guarantee anyway? Look at the track record.

Heh. Lets try it on a palm pilot. :)
:)
I ordered right from Lokisoft's web page. Still have yet to get mine. :(
*huddles in the corner and wimpers for the lack of civ*
Could someone kindly point me to a changelog? I've looked and I can't seem to find one. :(
Maybe some of the more famous folks could lease their accounts. Kinda like your 15 minutes of fame. Hehehe.
They should throw you in virtual jail. :)
I happen to completely agree with you here.

But that is just me.
I think thinking too fast might be my problem. I try to force my hands at the speed I usually type.
Hmmm. Writing isn't much good if it is so slow.
Interesting. Maybe I can convince my university to let us take our tests on a computer.
(Sure miss having a backspace key when I write tho.)
