    I think it comes down to this.

    You have the right to speak and you don't want to be censored. Fine. But you do *not* have the right to be heard.

    If a spammer wants to fill his web pages with banner ads, good and fine. I just won't 'listen' to it by going there (or by using junkbuster :).

    There were books that we were not allowed to read in English class or have in the library. This had been going on long before I got there.

    Not that I'm for net filters, but I think we should stop schools from banning books first.
