I've always ran Firefox and still do, but I have to say. My plugins stop working almost every time they update these days. It makes me use Firefox less and less.
The best thing about Firefox was that it viewed sites that other browsers didn't (not talking about IE here) and it's plugins. Firefox could do every thing. Now, each release it breaks everything.:/
This is true, but you have to be selective. Sometimes pre-built solutions makes since.
I've seem way to many people try to build solutions when an off the shelf solution would have been easier and cheaper in the long run. (say after a failure, and sometimes before!)
If you need a mail server with lots of accounts, but no bells and whistles. Build it yourself. You need an mail server with all the bells and whistles. (calendaring, etc) Buy one off the shelf. You will save yourself a lot of head aches. (providing you're not stupid in implementing your off the shelf product)
I have a couple of name brand HA NAS devices. I also have a couple of Linux NFS servers running DRBD and heartbeat. I knew where to buy off the shelf and where I could do it myself.
Is he not aware how terrible syslog is? syslog is ancient and has several series flaws from security to just stupid limitations. It should have been replaced ages ago.
I just upgraded my PC from a Intel E6600 to a AMD Phenom II X6 1100T. I chose AMD, for one reason. How the heat sink / fan attach to the motherboard.
I have dogs, and kids and my PC doesn't reside protected under a desk. It gets bumped all the time from them playing and those stupid plastic plug brackets that Intel uses to attach the heat sink and fan to the motherboard were absolute garbage. Someone would bump my PC and the heat sink would hang off and cause the CPU to overheat. Not to mention after re-attaching it a few times, the knobs break and you have to buy a new heat sink and fan.
At least AMD still uses the clamp style that clamps to the socket. There is no way that is going to come off unless you intend to take it off. I won't buy Intel again until they re-design how the heat sink attaches.
An original iPhone with iOS4 was slow as hell. An original iPhone with iOS5? I don't even want to think about that.
The Nexus One isn't getting Android 4, because the hardware is too slow for it. While I would love to have Android 4, I don't want it on my Nexus One. I would rather my Nexus One (while I still have it anyway) to actually be reasonably functional.
Why don't they put in a SD reader? That is one of the things I love about my Galaxy S and makes it a replacement for my MP3 player but without it I am thinking twice about getting this phone and making the Galaxy S II look a lot more appealing.
I'm with you. I was hell bent on getting this phone as an upgrade to my Nexus One. Then I saw this and started having second thoughts. Why would they do this? It's just plain ignorant to not put SD slots on any smartphones these days.
Opera changed the browser for the better, but they screwed up and allowed others to take their ideas and make everything else better.
I was an Opera user. They made huge strides pushing the browsers forward, but they allowed others to adopt their ideas which prevented them from growing. (that and sticking to standards that the world didn't abide by) Soon they had to innovate again and their new ideas weren't up to par. Just like this one.
Thank you Opera. You did wonders for the web browser. Though I'm sorry to say. Your time has come and gone./goodbye
$2B in losses. There had to be an agenda there. Kill the company? Maybe. Funnel money to someone else is quite likely too. Friends? Terrorist? I think they should look more into where the losses went. Not just how they were lost.
This is true, but they are generally tied to each other. For instance if a company has poor cash flow and working capital, their stock value tends to drop which knocks their market cap down. While the opposite occurs when a company has cash flow and capital.
The original poster does have a point. Many times a company will sell stock help finance large investments like this. $30M per title. You've got to ask, exactly how many titles are they purchasing the rights too? Currently Dreamworks has released 22 films. That's $660M. They have eight more films due to be released by 2014. That is another $240M. Is Netflix about to invest $900M on 30 movies?
Apple wasn't interested in any type of licensing agreement. They wanted Samsung's products ban. Why not return the favor? Apple wants to take a scorched earth approach to dealing with competition. By all means, give it to them.
I used the Linksys E3000 and it works well. The only issue I found is it seems to run a little hot. I lifted it off the flat surface by putting small blocks underneath it so that it can dissipate heat from the bottom. It has never locked up on me or anything due to heat or anything. It just seems to get pretty warm.
I know exactly what they are, I have them. They also can run vertically along the side of your rack. I have *both* vertical and horizontal cable management at one of my co-locations. The other co-location doesn't have them as the cabinets are too thin for the vertical raceways.
By definition, they are raceways. A raceway is a enclosed physical pathway for electrical wiring.
Cable race ways are nice, but not always feasible. At one colo, my cabinets are big enough and have them. At the other, they aren't. Not to mention, you can't have race ways running across the floor!:)

I have a Brother Printer and Brother has an iOS and Android app for printing. So far it has worked flawlessly.

Everything should be opt-in. Never opt-out.
We've already started the migration to Redhat's KVM. Our testing environment has been completed. We beginning the rollout for Production now.
Why switch? The price.
Rumor has it, this new Chinese super computer hacked into itself.
Whoa, then I wouldn't have my Redhat Directory Server!?!?! (previously Netscape Directory Server)

That is just straight up ignorant. The patent office should laugh them out the door when they submit a stupid patent like that.
Next they will patent hearing a voice through a phone by putting it to your ear.

80% less for only half the price? I'm sold! ...wait, wut?
Market cap is not working capital or cash flow.

Hope this never happens to Amazon...
What difference would it make?
Amazon UK has been spamming me with the same book I bought a month and a half ago. Would it matter if B&N does it too?
You are extremely naive if you think that is the only implication here.
Not have to comply? They should be legally bind to it.
Apple wasn't interested in any type of licensing agreement. They wanted Samsung's products ban. Why not return the favor? Apple wants to take a scorched earth approach to dealing with competition. By all means, give it to them.
18 months? What is an iPad's average life span? I would think the *average* wouldn't be much more than 2 years.
Our printers usually last 4+. Also to note, there are a lot less printers to have fixed, then iPads in that case.
You can also write on things you print. Not exactly the case with iPad documents.
I find this an extremely flawed argument.

Zip ties suck! Velcro straps are FAR better solution if you ask me. Cost more, but far easier to deal with when you have to add / remove a cable.
I've said this before. Companies should not have the legal ability to create ToS like for this general use. Only for one-to-one ToS.
