How about "shuufoxie"? "I shuufoxied my iPhone while trying out my 1337 h@xx0r skillz." That conveys a better sense of complete and utter uselessness, doesn't it?
personally I like the idea of a shorter, concise book that documents the entire language. Too much lip-service just means there's more you have to wade through to find the information you need.
If you want a lengthy book that draws things out and explains everything more than is necessary to know the raw syntax, then pick one of the other books. I'm not saying one way is better than the other, but it's better to have the choice. Ironically, I would say this parrellels the Ruby language -- sometimes things can be done multiple ways just because it's nice to have the option there in case you would ever need it.
I've had more problems with it in one year than I've had with all other versions of Windows over ten years, and that's not an exaggeration Then I'm guessing you never used Windows ME.
I HATE sites done entirely in flash. A part of the page, like a banner or a single graphic in flash is ok, but I hate it when the entire page or at least the bulk of it is done in flash.
Admittedly though, I do excuse homestarrunner.com for this.
I do the same thing. I don't even open the game box anymore. I view them as collector's items like old action figures that have never been removed from their packaging.
How is Huckabee splitting the conservative vote with Romney is Huckabee and McCain are both staunch conservatives and Romney is a moderate. Shoot, if you look back at Romney's voting history, he's darn near a liberal.
I haven't read the update yet, but my guess is they were running on fastcgi and this was a common problem of fastcgi. It has nothing to do with Ruby or Rails, if you ran a python script on fastcgi and got hammered with traffic, you would have the same problem.
"High noon"
What is this, the old west?
"If he were to get in _my_ face like that"
Now you see, you totally missed the point. This is part of what he is saying he is sick of. And it really does just make you look like an idiot. His whole point is that you pimple-faced nerdlings like to make these empty threats that will never play out. He is not saying that he can kick anyone's butt six ways to Sunday, he is making a point about the absurdity of your threats.
I'm sorely disappointed. I thought the Christmas release was supposed to be the stable Ruby 2.0. Anybody heard any projection for when the stable Ruby 2.0 is supposed to be released?
And if you are talking about "scalability" then that statement is absolutely false. It is trivially easy to scale Ruby apps and especially easy to scale Rails apps using the standard mongrel with mongrel_cluster. As a server admin, the biggest draw to Rails for me is it's ease of scalability, much much easier than scaling php web applications.
Now, "performance" is another story.
Buy a Mac, then won't even be tempted with having a choice of something better.

Kathleen Sebelius? Gross.
Ah too bad you posted as AC, now you'll never get the street cred.

The summary is wrong. The forum thread is talking about the RC of SP1.
Score: -1, unintelligible
