Because its obvious that the US can't keep a secret. The Wiretap Memos, WMD claims, Abu Garib, Torture Memos, Bill and Monica, Iran Contra, the Illinois Senate Seat Sale all show clear as day that a big conspiracy in the US gets leaked.
Comon' for corporate espionage and backroom dealing, Boeing couldn't even bribe the USAF to buy/lease KC-767 tankers without it getting leaked.
The PRC, a little better at keeping their spying and cyberwarfare on the low down. China is being singled out because they actually do all the human rights violations and anti-disident things that everyone dreams the US does.
Fab production sites within the United States are located in Chandler, Ariz.; Santa Clara, Calif.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Hudson, Mass.; Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Hillsboro, Ore.; and outside the United States in Leixlip, Ireland; Jerusalem, Israel; and Kiryal Gat, Israel. Two new fabs are under construction at existing sites in Arizona and Israel.
The company has six assembly and test sites worldwide and is building a seventh, all of them outside the U.S. Assembly and test sites outside the United States are located in Shanghai, China; Chengdu, China; San Jose, Costa Rica; Kulim, Malaysia; Penang, Malaysia; and Cavite, Philippines. An assembly and testing site in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is under construction. There is one testing facility and one assembly development facility inside the U.S.
It currently owns eight fabrication plants. Fab 1 (Module 1 & 2) is in Dresden, Germany. Fabs 2 through 7 are in Singapore, and a new plant, Fab 8, will be operational in New York in 2012.
Yes, but with China those countries exist. China could stamp parts with Republic of Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, or Singapore since all those countries have manufacturing infrastructure in place now.
I was just going to post on this. In early Hollywood most of the advisors/stunt shooters were folks with experience, like Wyatt Earp. So I'm sure they passed along that the guy who drew first usually got shot first.
Or its proof there was something else wrong with the person who took the vaccine and it was all coincidental that they showed symptoms after being vaccinated.
The night before I showed symptoms of ALL, I had been playing with a late 1970s Han Solo blaster pistol in my uncle's unfinished basement. Dose that mean a toy gun, an unfinished basement and/or playing are linked to ALL?
Like what others here stated, the diagnosis is on the rise, not the incidence of autism.
I was diagnosed with ALL three months after my MMR. Does that mean MMR gave me Leukemia? Of course not. Does that mean there should be a debate on vaccinations and ALL? Of course not.
There is more anecdotal evidence to prove vaccines don't cause autism, so wouldn't that push the debate into being over, if anecdotal evidence is the measuring bar?
Before they had the Space part, they were National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. They developed wings, air foils, etc.
They should the guys that design the wings, air foils, new materials that the Boeings and Lockheeds and Cessnas use so that American aviation is better.
I know schools are reducing what is taught about the Founders because a good chunk of them were slave owners and all were white, and thats just not what we teach anymore.
As for the American Revolution using tactics similar to Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Hamas, etc. That just isn't true. There were very limited irregular forces used by both sides, the Loyalists did it a little more than the Colonists did, from what I've read.
There was no murdering civilians who didn't side with the revolutionaries, no beheading, no suicide bombing, no Colonist went to London or occupied New York and blew up a British Army post or shot up a crowd of shoppers.
Even the American Indian Wars were more conventional and "regular" than whats happened in Iraq and Afghanistan.
They did do in the British back in the 19th century, the Soviets took one to the chin, but their ultimate defeat was because of the broader failing of the Soviet Union and loss of the Cold War.
They have not "fucked up" the Americans and NATO, its just a long process to nation build and fight a war.
Mules are used as pack animals. The USMC and Special Forces use them too.
As for "tent dwellers", have you seen Afghanistan? Someone called it a nation of Alamos, folks there live in cities, towns and compounds with walls think enough to stop artillery.
Yea, too bad we don't have a renewable energy infrastructure like...oh...um...Iceland.
As for the universal health care, we have these things called Congress, Special Interests and Constitutionality that keeps things from being rammed through.
They have nothing to do with military spending. If the US had an efficient universal health care system like the Swiss and Japanese do, we'd have more money for military spending.
Was reading about mules in the Italian campaign (1943-44). Compared to a legged vehicle, they suck.
There is the food aspect, vets and language. Yes, an Afghani mule for example will need a mule skinner than can speak the mule's native language, Dari or Pashtun (that covers like 90% of Afghanistan's mules).
And if your mules are killed or if you need more, its easier to airlift in some robots than to train or find more mules.
Well, they were limited by how much they could fit on a DVD (or two).
But yea, the Mako was a crappy way to explore, I think the new system is more "sci-fi", you scan the planet from orbit for metals and sometimes you find an anomaly and send an away team down.
We noticed last night that the audio of an anomaly's beacon got clearer the closer you go to it, neat stuff.
So far (I'm level 12 or 13) the side quests have been much more fun than they were in ME 1. I did one last night where I boarded a ship and had to fight mercs, it was a solid 20-30 minutes of good fighting.
I think the skill and combat system is a little dumbed down, I find it to be a better game that ME1 or Dragons Age.
I like the planet exploration in this better than the old drive the Mako around thing. I never got why they'd drop the Mako 10-20 minutes away from where you wanted to be.
You realize that without DARPA you'd not be whining about defense spending on the Internet, right?

Except for the CPUs in those Mac Pros are made in the US, Ireland or Israel (chances are US made). Same with the CPUs in the Xboxes, PS3s and Wiis.
As others are pointing out, thats just BS.

And how many hundreds of thousands or millions of years to do that?
I forget, how long did it take to form a nitrogen/oxygen atmo on Earth? A billion?
Its the name.

So NASA's job should be the colonization and terraforming of Mars?
No, thats not what NASA should be focused on, it should be focused on what it used to do best, develop and test aviation systems. Including space
They were common in South Dakota.

We just got a 36" HD LCD TV for $312. A Samsung.
Have you read anything about Watterson?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Watterson#Since_retirement
He doesn't give interviews much and he doesn't talk about his personal life at all.
So its just a piece about what he will talk about.
Did the journalist squander the opportunity or did Watterson only answer what he wanted to answer?
Reading about the guy, its obvious he wants his life to be private, so the interview is just those questions and answers Watterson wants to give.
Not the journalist's fault.
