    I was always underwhelmed by Denver's restaurant choices in the mid 90s when I lived in Denver compared to Portland or Seattle.

    Maybe it's gotten better since '97.

    The US has many food identities, I grew up on an Indian Reservation which had alot of German and Scandinavian settlers from 1905-1920, there was a mix of eastern and northern European foods along with Plains Indian foods.

    The southwestern US has Tex-Mex, northern Mexican and Central American influences, the big cities on the West Coast have their takes on what grew there and what is popular today.

    As for all cheese being "industrial sealant in the UK" that is just trolling, Oregon, California and the Midwest have some of the best cheeses in the world, on par with France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.

    Same for the wine, beer and spirits made in the United States.

    You have millions of data points from a ton of sensors (over 200, I think it's closer to 450), the time isn't in making copies, the time is going to be plugging all that data into the simulators at Airbus and seeing what the data points to.

    Airbus, Air France, the German, American, French and British investigators get copies and they run the sims too.

    American, Soul, British, German and Scandinavian seem droll and uninteresting to me.

    Two hours voice recording, data logs from a few hundred sensors, it all has to be done meticulously and perfectly in accordance with aviation authorities from Brazil, the UK, France, Germany and the United States. And lawyers, alot of lawyers.

    People voted for her in Alaska because she was the outsider, gave a huge chunk of money to the people of Alaska, raised taxes on oil companies and fought the lobbyists.

    Since she got on the national stage she's way different.

    NATO could base out of Cyprus.

    However, Syria has somethings Libya doesn't have, allies, terrorist organizations to act as a proxy and a modern integrated air defense network.

    Syria is a closer ally to the Russian Federation than Libya was, international action will require the UN Security Council to vote and the five permanent members to agree or to abstain.

    The Russian Federation and People's Republic of China will not vote in favor of action against Syria at this time.

    Its nothing to do with the politicians convincing the world, it has everything to do with the place Libya and Syria have in Russian foreign relations.

    Palin won't have read many, but her shelves will have "important" books for the looks.
    Ron Paul will have alot of economic and revisionist history stuff, pretty much anyone over from Lewrockwell.com that's written a book, he will have all their stuff.
    Donald Trump will have books about himself, by himself.
    Romney will have a good mix of Christian, Mormonism and pop history books.

    He started these reviews right after he left the House, I remember reading some of them in '02 and '03. Emailed his homepage at one point about a book and he replied.

    I don't like his politics, but he was friendly and intelligent in email.

    And here in Alaska, half the year its dark when I go to work, dark when I get off work, a weather app is really the best way to know what the hell it's like outside at 0 Dark Thirty.

    It might have been 20 when I went to bed and it might be -20 when I got up, or vis versa.

    My apartment windows all face the mountains, that doesn't help me see any weather moving in from the North, South or West

    Some of us live in an area where weather chances fast and fronts can come in from a variety of directions.

    I live within 2 miles of a mountain range, my weather can be 5-10 degrees F different than my workplace 4 miles away, rain and snow patterns are different. Just looking out the window there doesn't give me a good indication of the forecast for the greater Anchorage area.

    This administration has been at least as opaque if not worse than the last administration.

    The Obama White House cuts off access to news agencies that are critical of the Administration, the Press Secretary mocks questions and there are as many off the book meetings as the Bush administration was criticized for.
