    Toshiba makes a sweet net ready camera WITH wireless built in for less then $600. Vivotek has a 2111 that comes with great recording software but needs a housing, which will cost you anywhere for 75-275. Anyways the best bet would be a dummy housing looking at the parking space to spook the crooks

    Any Sys Admin that can't set up a Jabber server and for extra security force users to tunnel in using something like OpenSSH ought to have his pay grade re-evaluated.
    For those out there using Windows, simply tunnel into the server using Putty.

    We use it to control multible Milestone XProtect IP veideo servers from one control station. We of course need to see all the monitors but the extra kd/mice just cause headaches. Now the person monitoring can move the mouse to the screen in question with a natural move of the mouse. A bonus is the ability to control the Linux based NAS box and the SMTP server from the same workstation.

    them over their $#%#%^@ extended warranties. I just got "took" by CompUSA over a warranty on my Toshiba laptop. The side USB port just fell out, CompUSA tech was not suprised and said they could have it fixed in oooo 3 to 4 weeks.

    Umm the sales guy said there was only a 2-3 day turn around.

    Tech - Ya they'll say that, they make great money on the warranty.

    Well thats 350.00 pissed down the drain!!

    Not a chance, he's got a life time job cause people aree sick and tired of the crime. Just wish I'd sold him the web cams...

    "chain gangs and the pink underwear and the striped black 'n white uniforms and the 120F tent cities" so what it's not hurting them. He went to pink under ware to cut down on the theft of..... underware, tent city cause all the politicos want to say they were tough on crime but wouldn't give him a budget or new jail space, and chain gangs / striped uniforms have made an impression with a lot of the kids (future criminals) out here. As for 120F big f'n deal go camping with us in August near Quartzsite!
