According to Rasmussen's daily polling for Monday, February 26th, Trump has a 49% approval rating. Even more interesting, Obama, on this date in the 2nd year of his presidency, only had a 44% approval rating.
Curiously, according to the Washington Post, Obama's media coverage was 42% positive and 20% negative. While the coverage for Trump was 62% negative and only 5% positive. A number of other studies show negative coverage of Trump to be over 90%.
Thank god for those guys at microsoft and their amazing ability to find untapped markets and innovate technology that enriches our lives. What amazing foresight, touch screen phones and an online app store. wow
whooda thunk it ??
I applaud the precognition of these peerless innovators who have demonstrated time and time again, microsoft is the unparalleled, world-class ground breaking trendsetter of the technological world.
I had the misfortune to support dsl for a number of years. In our situation, we partnered with Earthlink. We would send a windows only cd out with the modem for installation to create a acct for a pppoe connection. The cd, when run, would connect the user with the earthlink acct creation webpage, where the user would create his user/pass combo, then the cd would configure the modem with this info. and yeah, install crapware.
it sucked. Account creation was probably our biggest call driver. Why we didnt have the sales person generate the needed acct when the service was ordered always bewildered me.
When, as in most of the time, the process didnt work properly , we , as support techs, would log into the acct creation site, input user info, create the acct, walk them thru telneting into the modem and configging it. The same went if someone was using mac or linux. The cd wasnt needed to surf but was needed for account creation or we would have to do it manually.
Im just glad someone found Novell's applications. I haven't seen any in years...............
*chirp *chirp........... thank you ladies and gentlemen, I'll be here all week
good points. i have no good counter argument. I shouldnt and they should. one positive coming out of the current situation is they are being exposed to a quality OS and seeing that no matter what they do, dad's pc just keeps on going, unlike their own.
Also, i was somehow smart enough to remember to image all their boxes so to restore to a pristine state only takes 15 mins tops
i havent had to do anything particularily clever, no. for the few docs, OO works just fine. I have absolutely no problems opening docs and those that receive them from me do not have any probs opening mine. I do support and admin work in a largely 'nix enviroment. my work boxes are fedora 5 and 7. my home boxes are fed 6 and kubuntu 7.04.
I'm not much of a gamer, so i dont have any probs playing games. when my kids pcs inevitabley get hosed(they run windows of course) they dont have many problems using one of mine until i get a chance to reimage their box. they can chat, do their myspace thing, listen to music, go to all their regular sites. one of my boys does complain he cant play one of his games but somehow , im not all that concerned about that. I'll give ms their due, it is a nice little toy platform for playing games, but other than that, its crap.
And praise be to god that I dont have to use that buggy, spyware infestested pile of putrid code for anything. Im 100% linux on all my workstations and servers. microsoft can just f off and die.
For some enviroments Microsoft products really do make sensethe only enviroment i can see ms products make sense would be a landfill.
Look , using ms products may be more convenient short term for some. But its obvious, the more concentrated their monopoly becomes, vendor lockin gets tighter, usage restrictions more onerous and costs (see the 20 flavors of vista) become higher. Using anything ms is a short sighted solution that winds up costing everyone more, eventually.
