Right now global warming isn't due to entropy from our energy being converted to heat. It is from increased amount of Carbon Dioxide and other gasses which are preventing the heat (mostly from the Sun) from getting reflected back into Space.
The fix is simple, but it will take effort from the population. 1. Use less CO2 for energy production. Solar, Wind, Hydroelectric, Nuclear... 2. Increase the growth and spread of CO2 absorbing life such as trees.
Now this won't fix all our environmental problems, but we can slow down global warming, to a rate where we and other life forms can adapt to the new normal.

Then over the next generation where the extent of of that far off political bias became transparent a counter far right movement had started, with the over simplified thinking that if group X was wrong, then we should do the opposite to make group Y right.
Now the Hippie movement wasn't all bad, they had some good ideas that have shone to be correct. Which many of the far right groups are dismissing as just liberal agenda.
Much like the fall of the Roman Empire. This fall was assumed to be from Romans evil ways so they rejected a lot of Roman values. Including bathing and hygiene as it was seen to be part of the decadent lifestyle that caused rome to collapse.
Even if it is better is it really that much better to justify the cost. We have 2 major open source Databases MariaDB and PostGreSQL and we have inexpensive Microsoft SQL which all do more than what most people need anyways. Back in the old days if someone needed a Database they went with Oracle because they had too however computing has advanced and Oracle is the dinosaur in the market a relic of the mainframe days praying on the stupid CIO who's head is still stuck in the 1980s

Well Apple tends to not lower its price over the lifetime of the product. So financially you are often better off buying it on release date, and keep it until it is no longer supported. Then getting the next new one on its release date.
I have noticed this in most equiptment over the past 30+ years of computing. I remember hearing the processing noise from my old Amstrad PC-1512C 8086. Which didn't have any cooling fans so when I did heavy processing it would make a whining sound. I also hear a whining sound from my wireless router, I can often hear noise on LCD Displays, especially on a full screen refresh. I expect the the iPhone 7 it is doing so much stuff (whether it being useful or not is open for a another internet flame post) and the new CPU allows it to do more enough to cause a noise.
If you are a company the size of Cisco with so many customers a month is a good scramble. As there are many levels of checks that are needed to be done, before you release it. Because while the flaw is really bad, causing all the customers to have their firewall brick from a bad patch is worse.
Most of us work on small scale programs, where a downtime or a major problem, isn't nearly a big deal. However with Cisco a problem in deploayment can bring down the entire economy.
I would put my effort in tracking down the miscreants who think it is important to harass the guy. Rockets and space transportation and space exploration is a wonderful way for us to figure out many of these problems. How do you survive on Mars without all those resources on earth? The answer to that means we could use that technology to survive on earth using less resources.
However the moon is close enough to get back if something goes wrong.
A moon base although not great for colonization can make a good rest stop for deep space travel. A good place to build the next generation spaceship without having to launch it with less fuel, which you can use for greater speed.

And would be taking better pictures with an auto focus camera. The same with tubes. A pro can make them sound warm and clear, while the average enthusiast may be better off with a cheaper transistor based device where they can use the money to get a higher line model.
When you jump onto the newest technology for development there is always a risk that it will die out or be rebooted in a new version. The problem software development process needs a period of wide usage for people to find where the pain points are. Sometimes those pain parts are part of the root code as they were at the time considered an acceptable trade off, only to later realize it is a big problem.
If you are learning or playing with the technology rusing v1 is good. If you are trying to make a professional system for long term usage you may want to fall back on the older more established alternatives such as jquery while may not solve the problems the same way as angular it will get the job done and has a long track record.

Like every tool it is up to the individual on how to use it. A technology designed for great good can also be used for great evil. The internet allows us to communicate with people around the world and openly share ideas and make people realize that in other areas they are human being too. Or you can use internet to spread you regional biases and hate across a broader area and recruit others to join your hatred group.
Also every technology comes with a trade-off. That smaller communication device means you will need to lose other features, such as a full size keyboard. There are always people not willing to lose what they have. So that technology that could save the world may have a trade-off that most people find acceptable, is unacceptable for others.
In short people are a problem, technology is a tool for the person to solve a problem they are trying to fix, but technology cannot solve society's problems.

Autonomous vehicles currently is a new untested technology. So naturally people currently will be more invested to double check for their safety. However as the technology matures and has a long track record then people will be more willing to do other things while the car is driving.
Heck we have people doing stupid stuff in a 80k Tesla car, which isn't fully Autonomous just because it can keep in the lane.
