There is good inflation and bad inflation. Good inflation is when the cost of goods and services rise, to match in increase of income of the consumers. Bad inflation is when the cost of goods and services rise, at a faster rate then the increase of income of the customers.
We are having low inflation now... However income has dropped, so it is still bad, and it is worse then when we have high inflation and a strong growth of income.
You still get a breath check and fail. It is a DUI Driving While Intoxicated. Not drinking and driving. If you are intoxicated due to a medical condition you are still not fit to drive.
The Right says No you can't have that (well the government won't pay for it) The Left says you can have that but you need to jump threw so many hoops to get it.
Religion is what a bunch of people practice together, often wrong and hypocritical, because it a group think kinda thing, same things happens with Political Parties, Followers of a particular philosophy, Open Source Zealots, Apple Fan boys etc...
"I can't imagine anyone wanting to have the device open for the camera when it is locked."
Well some people want to take pictures right away, before having to type in a password to get to it. Taking inappropriate pictures on your phone/ipad is easily deleted once the damage is done. This was on iOS 6 too.
A Slashdot post for every minor release of the Linux kernel. I was ok with Linux Kernel 3.11, as it kinda made fun of the Popular Windows 3.11 version. Also when Linux lost his stuff when his Hard Drive died. But to fill stories with every Minor release, it gets kinda silly.
I am a Tech Worker who Doesn't Live in California. There are a lot of tech workers who don't live in California. Oddly Enough where I live there are a lot of colleges and universities, where it is more common for Professors to switch jobs.
We are from the government! We want you to have this OS, we guarantee it is better then your old one, because we are the government.
Perhaps I am just being a skeptical American. But anything with the Government Seal of Approval, makes me feel a bit scared. Not that I am a big fan of Microsoft or the Corporate entities are to be trusted. But at least with Corporations you know they are in it to make money. But Government and other organizations often have a lot of agenda's. Not always to your favor.
Linux has never been a serious threat to Windows in the desktop area. What will happen is people will pick up the CD's because it is free, and never install them. As for things like loosing your existing programs, and possible your documents is a big deal. Chances are they will just see it as an opportunity to get new hardware. And will get Windows 8, they will complain and then get use to it, and not care anymore.
It would be better if Universities, get out of the Educating Kids for Jobs market, but strict educational research path.
We need to get Organizations to recognize non-College degrees as valuable education for their work. And save your College education degree for career paths in research and education.
The Undergrad classes, should be taught not in a University setting but in a Schooling setting outside of research. Not Dumb it down, but teach it with the expectation that people will use it to go to work in industry.
Tenured is a bad plan in terms of Human Resources, and productivity. Every job has an aspect to it that isn't fun, and people would prefer not to do it if they don't want to. What keeps people doing these sucky parts of their jobs, is the fact that they could get promoted, or at least not fired for doing them.
Now if you have Tenured where you would only get fired if you really try to, means your job is secured, not matter what. So if there is the sucky part of your job, you just don't do it, or do it well. Most Professors do not like to teach Undergrad classes, they want to focus on their research. So once they get Tenured they will not try hard.
The non-tenured professor, needs to fight for his job, there is a lot of competition. he needs to be sure the undergrad money maker students are getting a good education with him, so he looks good to his bosses, as not to be replace next year with another Recent PHD grad.
Honestly how many people would quit their jobs if they hit the jackpot in the lottery? Even if they loved their job they would quit, because they don't have to deal with the stuff they don't want to deal with, as needing money for survival isn't a factor. They can live quite well for the rest of their life so why make themselves do stuff they don't want to do.
Besides Star Trek is only a few hundred years in the future. If trek was real life (it isn't), that would mean right out of our solar system is black hole, which I would say would be kinda scary.
I actually do like it. Having systems that require advanced passwords with short timeout to the lock screen. I prefer it. As it is an easy way to get in.
In terms of security, your fingerprint information is probably just as secure on your system as your password is.

Some != Most
Some < Most
Professional drivers can zoom down the Interstate at 120MPH safely. Most people can't that is why we have speed limits.
Kickstarter is like Micro-Venture Capitalism.
High Risk of failure. However you don't need a large upfront investment.
It is kinda like playing the lottery.
So Electric Hobo looks good on your resume?
So lets put you charity spending in a place where you cannot get tax deductions for it. Smart, way to stick it to the man!

Dolphins, Orca's and Sperm whales have teeth too.
I think they meant their Hind legs have been disconnected with their spine.

Faith, is a more personal thing.

0 G doesn't mean 0 Mass. The correct term would have been Nuclear Fission is too massive.
But it would be enough to get more IBM Exceptions put in the GPL 4.0

I have met too many people, who couldn't fully grasp that concept.

And I want it for under $25.00 and It needs to be more powerful by itself then all of Google's Data Servers.

Oh Boo Hoo... Like every other professional field doesn't have that problem.

But he is a software developer. You know Software Developers are excellent system admins by default!
That is why everyone asks the software developer on how to fix their PC.
