  1. Re:Furthermore... on Federal Prosecutors Tempt the Streisand Effect · · Score: 2

It's not silly at all. The prosecutors were just dumb to not know the rules. The NSA properly marked the document as UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO then the dumbass attorneys wanted to say "it's classified!" when it clearly isn't, since FOUO is a handling instruction (not a classification) that is used for unclassified information only.

The point of FOUO is to exempt information from Freedom of Information Act. It doesn't meet the standards for the lowest classification of CONFIDENTIAL, but deserves shielding from public view, usually things like Names, Addresses, Phone Numbers, Military Unit schedules, etc.

  2. How to Stop Pirating on P2P Music Downloads At All-Time Low · · Score: 1

Hey music industry suits. You know what will really slow down music pirating? When iTunes goes to a subscription-based services once all those pretty new servers are online in North Carolina, that's what! Unless of course you'll play the usual music industry thug card an not allow that.

  3. Re:Because new music sucks? on P2P Music Downloads At All-Time Low · · Score: 1

Just because music is at an all time low right now, doesn't mean there aren't still hundreds of albums from about 1960-2010 that I'd like to own. Bad music today is not deterring my quest to get good music from the past.

  4. Re:Oh good... on P2P Music Downloads At All-Time Low · · Score: 1

There's plenty of good music to be purchased. You just have to look past the top 50 or so in the iTunes Top 100 until you start seeing anything worthy.

  5. Re:Lets be honest here... on P2P Music Downloads At All-Time Low · · Score: 1

That's an old argument. Don't confuse the glut of pop-music as "there's no good music these days". There has always been bad pop music dominating the charts, and there has always been good album/adult - oriented music. Digital music is just making it easier for the crappy stuff to be over-representative of music in general.

That guy is a serious shill. He asks what IE's greatest challenge is then answers it incorrectly. IE's greatest challenge is it's a piece of crap. It's slow, unresponsive, buggy and non-standard.

I'll use ANY browser (other than IE) because I frankly don't care about all the bells and whistles and don't have a favorite. But if you give me a browser that is so obviously slower (the fact you can actually perceive IE's slowness compared to the others says volumes) and buggier than the other options, I'll refuse to use it.

Yes, because all kids fit your perfect age span for expected behavior. My kid is 11 and a boy. He is more mature than his 14 year old brother, at times. Your arbitrary age ratings (and the completely arbitrary ratings of games and movies in general) are stupid, pointless, and miss the mark completely when it comes to parenting children.

Only stupid people (regardless of age) think they can pull off a double front wheel flip. There's a built in filter for stupid behavior like that called "fear" and "pain".

And stupid people who imitate media are not limited to a specific age group. They are just stupid in general, regardless of their age.

My kids (14, 11) play Call of Duty non-stop. Based on the other voices in the multiplayer games, I would guess probably the majority of players at any given time are school aged. My kids know it's a game (a fun one at that because you get to shoot people, and when you die, you come back to life...things that aren't possible in real life, thus part of the fun).

Yes, the Bobo Doll experiment. That's why games like Grand Theft Auto and Duke Nukem are inappropriate for that age group...THREE to SIX year-olds. But at the next stage of early childhood development, children learn not to beat up the Bobo doll. A pre- or early teen has a far more developed sense of right and wrong than a three year old.

As for pro wrestling and jackass, well, those guys are funny and I, as a 42 year old, would never try any of that stupid shit. That's why it's funny...because they are so stupid to do it, and I don't have to.

It's one thing to give "full disclosure", such as "I work for Company X who advertises with TV Show Y" but it's something completely different to say, "I hate Apple because of all their faggy hipster fanbois". You can't say "I severely dislike Apple for reasons a, b, c" and then have someone take your opinion seriously, especially if reasons a, b, and c aren't very compelling reasons to hate them.
