Something compact, say golf sized, maybe with a with 2 or 4 doors and without all the crazy bells and whistles of this car. I would think something like that would sell well.

So the real question is, how big of a tax is "hefty"

This is what bothers me about tax discussions. People say if we tax the rich then there will never be any jobs ever, but if we tax the hell out of the poor there will be nobody buying and still no jobs. The key is finding a balance, finding a tax level that provides you with the result you want in terms of income and impact on behavior, not declaring a tax bad because if it was too high it would ruin everything.

It depends on what you are developing. If your app is targeted at people who will only use the App store (i.e. non professional, less technical home users) then you certainly should be in the app store. Why are you implying that being in the app store would be a bad thing? Because you have to have your application sand boxed? That sounds like a good thing to me and a terrible reason to avoid the app store.

  20. Re:swingers? on HPV Vaccine Recommended For Boys · · Score: 1

given that there are hundreds of strains of HPV and the 2 vaccines cover something like 16 strains between them it is quite possible for this vaccine to be useful even to someone who has been exposed. Many men could be carrying very common strains of HPV but not be carrying one of the most dangerous strains (some of which are targeted by these vaccines).

Of course the problem isn't that you can't get the vaccine, you can, but your insurance won't pay for it. What it comes down to is its not financially beneficial enough to vaccinate you (an older male) especially when the person most likely to end up with a problem from your HPV infection is a woman who is not necessarily even with the same insurance company.

  21. Re:Social conservatives amaze me... on HPV Vaccine Recommended For Boys · · Score: 1

  23. Re:A trillion dollars in student loan debts on Ron Paul Wants To End the Federal Student Loan Program · · Score: 1

Maybe we should get rid of the current loan system and instead plunge that money into providing a free (or cheep/subsidized) education at State schools. The amount they can charge per student could be held down by the government to manageable levels. They could provide free education to in state applicants and perhaps a reasonable surcharge for out of state applicants. They would most likely not be allowed to keep all of expensive administrator and dean positions staffed at the high rates of pay that they are currently at, but hey, times are tough all around.

Sure, it would be prohibitively expensive to go to big private schools but as more and more people opt out of that they would also have to drop tuition, especially with no federal loan money headed their way. The result is a system where people can still get a degree but high end schools are forced to come down in price to stay viable.
