The nes and snes emulator for PocketPC had the same type of input method. It works well for some types of games like RPGs, and very badly for "action" games that require multiple buttons to be pressed at the same time.
Could you expand on that? Does this mean that one-off purchases of Office 2007 can't be used on Terminal Server? ian
Terminal services can operate in 2 modes. It admin mode it acts like remote desktop. You can get to any application this way without special licensing. It presents you with an entire remote desktop.
In Application mode it's configured to send a single window to the remote user. It basicly allows them to see a window as if it were running no thier local computer, but is actually installed and running on a server. Other than a bit of lag the user won't ever be aware that the application isn't running locally. This usually allows large companies to buy fewer licenses (but more expensive ones), and simplifies the install. The local computer also needs fewer resources. I think it's this mode that the grandparent was speaking of that office 2007 won't run in without special terminal server licensing.
I totally agree with you. Bashing Microsoft has become the "thing that the cool kids do" now. Everyone wants to hate Microsoft so badly that they grasp onto any bad thing they hear, true, false, confermed, unconfermed, and repeat it to everyone they see. They do this because it makes them seem like they know what they are talking about to the lesser informed person. Then the cycle repeats.
Im fairly sure physical movement moves at the speed of sound through that medium. Since sound waves are small compressions of the material it actually the same speed that the movement would be transmitted at.
The same reason I can't go down to the publicly funded library you use and get a copy of any books you checked out. Just because it's paid for with tax dollars doesn't mean you get to do what you want with it.
I'm running Vista with the equivilant system form Polywell, and have had no problems at all. Even with the cursed 680i sli motherboard that everyone else seems to have problems with (including having it catch fire).
If microsoft sells XP this year, it will be reported in this year's income. Microsoft shouldn't really care if they sell XP or Vista, both are sales and income to them. Microsoft is counting on EXTRA vista sales from people upgrading to Vista.
Natural selection should select the most fit to survive
And it is. It's picking those most fit to survive in the current conditions. Current conditions mean you don't need to be fast or strong. It will still select those who are best able to survice under the current presures of the world. Evolution doesnt have a direction or a speed, it's just change to adapt to the world.
Microsoft often gives away CDs / DVDs containing stuff like Office, and Visual Studio at some of thier developer conferances. Does that give the person who received it permission to distribute it over the internet? I don't think so.
Reminds me a joke i heard somewhere... In the future all planes will be flown by a pilot and a dog. The pilot's job will be to feed the dog. the dogs job will be to stop the pilot from touching the controls.
QTFairUse works just fine on the newest versions of iTunes (unless there has been a new verison in the last week). It even works perfectly on a 64-bit Vista installation, which was a little shocking because I thought it worked by hooking into memory.
That it was an honest mistake and wasn't malicious behavior? Besides, this is an APPLICATION, they didn't get an actual patent yet. They may cancel the application once this news reaches Microsoft's higher brain functions.
I'm not sure of how your house is setup, but I was able to get around this problem without cordless phones. I unplugged the internal phone wiring at the junction box in my garage, seperating it from the external phone system. Then I plugged the VoiP box's phone port directly into the existing phone jacks. Now any phone plugged into a normal phone jack anywhere in the house works off the VoiP. Of course this only works if you can disconnect your internal wiring from the external phone system.

So by your logic I should be able to go into a public place (a bar) and inhale some noxious chemical, one that is a known poison and carcinogen, and blow it in your face while you are trying to eat?

That it restricts the rights of smokers. Now they can't go to any bar and smoke. They can't even set up their own bar that allows smoking. You took away their ability to exercise a legal habit so that some other group could go to bars and feel comfortable - people don't have the right to be comfortable.
So you are saying someone's right to have a "legal habit" is greater then someone's right to be confortable? And it's not about being comfortable, it's about not breathing in poisons.

Some people are afraid to leave thier houses.

Which is why you would never be on the jury, because you have already made up your mind about the outcome.

Umm dude. USB notifications popped up under XP too.

There is also a verison of the framework for ARM based PocketPC based devices.
You still bought vista even if you wiped it. This is a financial report, they don't care if you are not using it, they still sold it to you.

You turned them off when you turned off UAC.

Riiiiight, so just to be on the safe side they should upload it to the internet for everyone to copy.

The next model will be filled with Helium.

Vista has been officially released on MSDN for over a month now.
