This just goes to show we have a lot more to learn about wirless technology. To a lot of people it may seem like simple common sense to use WEP or some other serious form of protection for sensitive records like that. But getting wiresless is becoming just as easy as getting a cable modem hooked up so more people are doing it at a faster rate and not researching the risks that come with it.
I read an interesting (all be in short) article not too long ago about the risks that does a nice job of explaining things.
I agree that they are doing the right thing pursuing "heavy" music traders, but how can you support the RIAA when all they do is throw their weight around? They will undoubtedly "settle" half these cases just so they can get more money to "settle" more cases.
The problem lies in that a company who is supposed to be working FOR the people who enjoy its services is doing nothing but working against them. The RIAA has never offered to sit down and negotiate a way to get lower prices. They have also never looked to put together a solution for music download, which is obviously the new wave of dealing with music. If the RIAA can't accept change from the people then the people aren't going to and SHOULDN'T accept the RIAA trying to change what they do.
I'd be interested to check that book out as I use reg expressions a lot in PHP. But for those of you looking for a resouce online check out RegExLib. I use it often when I'm having trouble putting an expression together and have found it extremely helpful.
If you call "Many people" support for Linux you must mean the people who love linux, and have experience in it. You can't just rule out the same people for Apple, so that one matches up about the same. As for hardware, you can use almost any if you can find ways to get it working with GNU/Linux (not a simple task). And it's not Steve Jobs is some god-like man who makes EVERY decsion for Apple all by himself, he may be in charge, but that doesn't give him control over every aspect. None the less you overall troll does make sense (:
A weblog sounds like a really cool idea. It would also be neat to have some sort of forum setup for them to access and have disscussion on class topics and such (a forum just seems like a more "live" things than a weblog).
This sounds like a good idea, but will it really be full-proof? I could see people running up the prices just for fun. Using an internet bidding system as a census to see what people will pay for something seems like a good idea in theory. But I hope they make it a private auction or use some kind of security to AT LEAST make sure the people bidding even live in the area. Also, should an available lane on a highway really be "given out" in accordance to what someone is willing to pay? The car-pool lane is there for a reason, not for the highest bidder.
All this well informed information coming from someone who doesn't even know how to properly format a link. Is http://webworld/ bringing in TONS of money?
Al Gore DID invent DNS. But he would've felt bad taking all the credit, so he let the USC guys do the testing for him. I mean, Al Gore wouldn't lie, would he?
What's up with theRIAA website? I went to the main site and it downloaded that has some jibberish and says "HTTP/1.0 302 Moved Temporarily ". Same sort of thing happened with other pages within. Strange.
This got a funny mod? Um, flamebit?
When you buy an Apple you get what you pay for, so that's a bad example anyway.
Who mods this stuff?
Frazier will have to pay $500 a month for the next 30,000 years, though no one really expects him to live long enough to make all the payments.
I'd just keep charging it to my Visa till I died..."Don't worry, I'll pay it next month, honest!"
Now when I drop my PDA it'll crash the system ):
Lets hope we don't rush into things and end up with another one of these with our nations secrets as opposed to students psych evals :\
LOL, i like how in the SP4 FAQ the first question answers everything the next 20 questions spend spelling out.
wow you got the point egde_efink!
