If taxes are theft, rent is also theft as rent is little more than privatized taxation. As housing is necessity, you're given little choice but to sign a contract where a private country, called a "landlord", forces you to live by their rules and pay their taxes. Refuse to do either? "Men with guns" will come and forcibly remove you or put you in prison. Refuse to sign a contract? "Men with guns" will come and cite you and/or arrest you for vagrancy. Taxation is a fact of life. It's also the cost of civilization. Don't like it? Buy your own island and start your own country, provided the country of the island's jurisdiction allows you to do so.

Continue, as with most all parties, to overlook, ignore or spread disinformation about land, which isn't man-made, and the value of which is inherently socialized, as it's value comes from community, who's populace alone create demand simply by existing on it, but also labor to make infrastructure and create culture which increases its value, which in turns attracts more who do more of the same, but all of whom are forced to pay 100% of the value they created to landlords who, compared to the community, do little or nothing to make or increase the value of the land they own.
I would think any conservative who believes in hard work and fairly rewarding such labor, would believe those who create an item of value deserve to be fairly compensated for it. But if it's the community that creates the value, then the American Libertarian party label it "socialism", which they abhor, and say cannot be held to the same standards. This is outright hypocrisy.
Henry George, the author of Progress And Poverty, the father of modern geo-economic thought, who's ideas were the basis for the creation of the American Libertarian party, would be rolling in his grave if he knew it had turned into nothing but a group of snotty-nosed, privileged, anarcho-capitalists with huge self-entitlement issues, who use their bastardized & deceitful view of "liberty" to justify selfishness and classicism.

These injustices done to us in the past decade at the hands of our government & corporations are just the exaggerated symptoms of a corrupt judicial system. Since the beginning, our judicial system has been designed to deny the masses the ability defend their rights. It's been engineered to guarantee only the wealthy the ability to obtain justice. It has done this by insuring no one except the wealthy can afford to hire attorneys & litigate. This point in particular is exemplified if litigation is to amend law & policy that is believed to violate one's rights. The majority of Americans cannot afford to litigate for this purpose, and that's exactly what Wall Street & their cronies in government have been banking on. They can pass law & policy that violate our civil & human rights en masse with little fear of lawsuits to hold them accountable. Until we have a judicial system that guarantees all people, regardless of income, the ability to appoint attorneys & litigate, our politicians will continue to have limited accountability for their actions. They will only continue to pass law & policy that violates our civil & human rights.
I was doing research on PTSD a few years back for personal reasons. The studies I found were quite shocking to say the least. PTSD isn't just caused by being on the battle field or having one major traumatic event happen. Most of the things people go to therapists for; depression, anxiety, trust issues, etc. are all symptoms of milder forms of trauma. It's all PTSD. Dr. Amen, one of the leading psychiatrists in the world on brain scanning technology has scanned thousands of people. The scans he does sense chemical-electric activity in the brain. What he's found is very, very few people actually have healthy brain activity; most people have suffered from trauma. The general populace seems to see it though as "that's life" rather than seeing mental illness as the plague of humanity. Mental illness is truly a disease as it's contagious; people tend to reenact their trauma and in doing so traumatize others. And most treatment is laughable to say the least. Different types of treatment were tested on Viet Nam vets. The combination of talk or cognitive therapy with pharmacolatherapy and relaxation exercises only had a 15% recovery rate.Then I discovered a fairly new therapy called EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization & Reprocessing). It was developed and has been tested since the mid-80's. The recovery rate was far higher; 85% of all patience diligently engaged in weekly sessions recovered. So the question is, why isn't there more media coverage of this? Why aren't more therapists trained in something that actually works?
For those of you interested in scripting in BASIC It's worth mentioning the FreeBasic project, a cross platform Basic compiler based on the Microsoft QuickBasic dialect. It's compatible with QB script but also implements many new features for modern functionality (such as OOP). It also supports in-line Assembly, C libraries and compiles to dependency free stand-alone executables.
Not all of these games were released in the past year. La Mulana was released in 2005 and Lyle In Cube Sector, 2006. And since this seems to be a compilation of some of the best freeware games released on the Windows platform I'm surprised there's no mention of the epitome of freeware, non-linear adventure/platformers:
The game is so popular it has a dedicated modding community and has had official and non-official ports of it made for portable platforms. The non-official port was for the PSP. To the Cave Story community and the Author's horror, some company was actually trying to sell the game as their own work.
Your attitude is sorta like a guy in Guam saying "hey, if the USA and the USSR wipe themselves out tomorrow, where's the downside?" Well, the downside is that the world just ended. I repeat the question: Where's the downside?
