    I would rather play at 1920 x 1200/60 FPS vsync'd in DX11 with heavy AA and Aniso then the DX9 720p jaggy mess that most console games are forced to run at. P.S. I own all 3 modern consoles too.

    You are wrong on so many levels . I GAVE an iPad to my mother-in-law, set it up on her mac and then i packed up the mac and stored it. A year later she still hasnt asked for her mac back. For a lot of people an iPad is a complete desktop/laptop replacement. Did i mention I havent had a single service call to her house in that time?

    EA seems to be loosening up a bit. I jsut bought some cheap games on their EADM service. You can tell they want to be Steam v 2.0. I havent tried it yet, but supposedly you can DL and play your games on any PC. It remains to be seen how the DRM/activations of individual titles works out. IN steam i get the excuse that they cant control all 3rd party DRM and so activation limits etc are something they cant get around, but EA should have no problems like this because they are a publisher.

    Putting it in context does not change the situation at all. It does not change that what Amazon did should be both illegal and punishable. Its not MY fault amazon is so incompetent that they sell books they dont have rights to.

    THEY COULDNT DO THE SAME SHIT IF IT WAS A PHYSICAL BOOK. Why should they be allowed to completely violate my rights as a consumer because THEY sold something they shouldnt have? THis is not a solution we should ever be sanctioning and Amazon SHOULD have been slapped really hard for it.

    NOT necessarily illegal if they are breaking for interoperability, especially for functionality that has been removed. The conclusion of Sony v. George Hotz will shed more light on this subject.

    Do you REALLY think setting a bone and putting some screws in should cost $50k? That is a simple and extremely ordinary procedure. There is no reason it should cost more the $10k at the VERY EXTREME.

    Who do you think ultimately absorbs the hospital's loss? WE DO. When the hospital writes it off, they get a tax break which in turn is less money coming from the hospital which means WE have to make up for the difference.     What about guns? Do you know how trivial it is to mow down 6 or more people with one handgun? In your worldview I wouldnt even be allowed to have a gun, becasue i MIGHT kill people with it.     Took significantly less then 5 years to crack the PS3. The people who ended up finding the right stuff werent even looking until motivated by Sony.

    Linux never required any hardware above the base. The reason Sony gave for not continuing the OtherOS on the slim is that they didnt want to write new drivers every time they changed the hardware.

    Bullshit. Its a communication device. Its the same fucking thing that Kirk and Spock used. Its the fusion of a tricorder and a communication device. If you cant see a device with a several radios, the ability to pinpoint your global position, the ability to tell if you are moving or not, the ability to provide map data, emergency communication, in-the-field first aid data as a world-changing piece of tech then you are blind or living in the past.

    If you believe the principal of free speech as it relates to grievances against government should apply everywhere, well then you have ALOT of critical thinking to do. Free speech everywhere is fundamentally flawed and is about as viable in the real world as anarchy or pure unchecked democracy.

    EA doesnt work for you, they work to sell to your market segment, and as long as they can keep selling enough widgets to that segment, they really dont give a shit what you think. Expecting a private entity to have to PAY to store, maintain, and rebroadcast any and all lunatic ravings you may have simply because they sold you a widget is delusional, narcissistic and unproductive and above all, UNPROFITABLE!
