    Even the best connections drop sometimes. If you want guaranteed service with a 5 sigma SLA, you pay for it on a business class connection. Its normal and expected to lose connection from time to time in the consumer space.

    WRONG. The only reason we dont heavily cache now is because of copyright. Ideally you want to grab as much of the stream all at once as you can, incase you loose connectivity during the next 2 hours. Streaming is a great compromise, but caching is better.

    They all do it. Microsoft refuses to allow Remote Desktop and Group Policy on non-Pro machines, even though both are a very necessary feature.

    Measles moves on its own, Arsenic does not. The point was that Measles transmission is a completely natural occurrence, putting the blame on a human for this mechanism is dumb. Typhoid Mary was a specific case, you are not talking about specific cases, but the public at large. Also, all Mary had to do was NOT COOK, and she was fine, but thats all she knew how to do. They let her go a few times and kept finding her cooking. Your examples are terrible.

    Star Wars 'ethos' is front and center via the Force, so its harder for JJ to lens flare away the central theme of the story (balance of Light and Dark). Star Trek's story of humans becoming extraordinary humans for its own sake is completely lost. There is no 'hope' in JJ's Star Trek, and its a shame.

If your ideals align with society's you will say 'society', if your ideals dont then you will align with individual Liberty. Thats all this discussion is. Is society right in forcing herd-immunity at the point of a gun?

    No one in the world is more important to me than me. I respect other people, but at the end of the say i will step over your corpse to live if I have to. You are sayign the exact same thing, but using 'society' to justify your position. 'I dont care if you die, as long as herd immunity is enforced'

    Infection is a NATURAL process. You cannot and should not be able to prosecute people for spreading it without proving actual malicious intent (spitting in food to spread it purposefully). Measles are a part of this world, placing the blame on a person who is just a carrier is absurd.

    The problem is you are taking your choice and presenting as the only possible right choice. I COMPLETELY am pro-vaccine and herd-immunity, what i am against is the idea that we can FORCE substances into people against their will. Your consequences diatribe is just weasel words for you wanting to impose your will on others.

    One last thing, Google BOUGHT Android, it didnt write it from scratch. I loathe MS as much as the next BOFH, but saying they couldnt build an OS from scratch is quite frankly, asinine. The biggest problem MS ever had was their own success makes it hard for them to move when they want to.

    You dont throw away what works just because its old. Shrunken x86 is still better then the best ARM designs. ARM will NEVER be better than Intel at making chips, they dont have the R&D that Intel does.Intel is not not going to fail miserably for mobile devices, the 8" windows tablets that are out right now are KILLER,. My Android TV Nexus Player runs Intel as well. Dell makes intel Android tablets. Bay Trail is absolutely LIGHT YEARS ahead of the best ARM designs, even Apple's A8X.

    You should be blown away by what Intel has been able to accomplish, rather than lament an inferior design should win.

    IN this particular case the device only has a 3000mah battery.It runs for about 5 hours. Its a Winbook Tw700. Honestly i use it as a 'presence' device so i can get into networks i manage so battery life wasnt a concern for me.

    Jobs had a sense of taste that no one at MS has. He kept a room in his house with just a nice chair and a Tiffany lamp with the idea that what you leave out is just as important as what you put in. Thats why he could 'get away with it', he actually had a sense of design.

    Dude, ubiquity and compatibility over new and shiny. ARM SUCCKKKKKSSSSSSSS compared to x86 in these areas. Shrunk down x86 is a MUCH smarter path, even with all the cruft.

    Windows 8 shrunk down enough to low end hardware that RT isnt needed. Im running Win 8.1 on a 7" tablet with 16 GB eMMC and 1 GB of ram that i bought for $59 retail.
