I'm a musician myself who plays in a band, and releases albums. I have no problem with people downloading my music (infact, most of our music is up for free), because I know people are going to buy a copy if they like it, and allowing downloads gives more people a chance to like us and buy a cd. *MOST* people are into material possesions, and will buy a copy. The others support us by word of mouth and attending the concerts we put on. It's a win-win situation for us independants:)
Why is it that every year, someone bitches about taxes, and how the government is taking us for a spin? Sure, there's a plethora of governmental bodies, and maybe more than needed, but without them, where do streets and street repairs come from? Street lights? Police officers? Schools? These things we take for granted, but are integral to our lives, and our children's lives. Money doesn't just poof from somewhere to pay the bills of street cleaners, or the guys that fix our street lamps. Who pays for all the electricity? Who plows our backlanes for free? We pay taxes up the ass to enjoy the sweetest life imaginable. Who cares if you paid $3000 in taxes and only got back $2900. That $100 paid for someones back breaking labor (heh) on our streets, to ensure our tires don't get beat up by potholes.
Oh, when ANYTHING in the country goes wrong, who do we turn to to shell out the big bucks to get it fixed/done? The government.
People need to stop complaining. It's not like they're taking your first born. Unless your American, then, sorry. You should move your kids up to Canada. Up here we build igloos and have stick figure parties. Armies? That's for the ones with more than 3 fingers. Ain't many of them around here.
