Thats weird I've never had problems with using USB wallchargers from other toys, or my no-name car charger. I have noticed that on Windows it seems that the driver needs to load (security?), but on Linux, Mac, and all the generic adapters I've used it has charged fine. Come to think of it last time I was in Chicago I charged my Touch off of one of these mounted USB chargers at the terminal.
For those of us who spend lots of time lifting weights BMI is pretty useless. Muscle is denser than fat, many of my friends in great shape have a BMI over 30. These guys may be large, but they certainly aren't obese.
Yeah sad to not see a day-and-date release, but they still have amazing support for lots of platforms. If they take as long as Google did there will be hell to pay though.
As an everyday Chrome user I have to say this new Opera beta is pretty spiffy. I've been using it for the past day and while the UI is certainly Chrome-like but seems to have a bit more polish. The best part is it seems on par if not even slightly faster with most rendering in comparison to Chrome. Lately I've switched from Safari/FF to Chrome, but I'll be seeing how Opera works this one out. This will be great to see on Mac and Linux at some point in the future. Especially Mac where Opera performance has generally lagged.
A few potentially good ideas somehow changes a decade of standards abuse and generally shitty security? I hope the submitter realized that the only reason MS even bothered with any of this is thanks to them getting an ass pounding over the last few years for not giving a shit about security. Your welcome MS drones.
From what I understand the issue was with the approval proccess. These apps have been ready for a long time but nobody bothered to submit them until Apple gave the go ahead. Assuming the mobile provider doesn't balk at it I think things are good to go in all markets.
This is a good thing, but lets not forget how Comcast continually raped their customers and fought for a closed internet. I urge you not to give them too much credit. If nothing else it is nice to know that they are perhaps not *pure* evil.
I'm in the same boat. I was bitching that it was tied to AT&T and then they dropped that it was unlocked. Guess we should learn not to criticize until the event is over.
You have written one of the douchbaggiest comments I have ever read on/. not posted as an AC. If you don't want to explain what you are saying, try shutting the fuck up next time and save us the time.
Success? The Xbox cost MS millions, and from what I can tell they are still trying to pay it back with the 360 which just recently *may* have turned a profit. The reason I say may is because of the way MS has it's divisions organize group Mac software (highly profitable) with Xbox HW.
ped through under the radar, so fuck china i hope they all die a miserable death!
Thats harsh and absurd. Sure the Chinese GOVERNMENT is corrupt and evil, but lets face it most of them are. China's is just near the far end of the scale. Vote with your wallet (when you can-not always possible) and lobby with your voice and feet. China in the end is merely propped up by the endless shit we buy from them
Agreed. Sadly governments seem more interested in the PR of looking like caring as opposed to actually tackling the issue. I suppose that goes without saying though.
Without knowing it it sounds like you are endorsing non-intervention in crisis like this. If people will be people and mob and steal what incetive is there to help? I for one think that human dignity is often shown most brightly in times like these. Those who participate in acts like this urge others not to act next time, especially since there is no obgliation except moral- which is quickly washed away by a few injured aid workers. You let them off to easy friend.

Coming from a guy named couchslug...

Off topic? The summary is pure troll.

Now where's teathering for us poor AT&T "customers"?

You nailed it. It's kinda silly some people can't see that as obvious. The Touch is really an iPod in name only (and lack of comm features).
On further note check the specs on Apples site. It shows you to be quite "clueless".
The iPhone 3G even supports HSPA 7.2 so what makes you think this wont?
Or maybe have access to the dozens of extra features the iPad provides. Real games, real internet, maps, ect. Is it really that hard for you to grasp?
Unlocked, MicroSIM compatible. SOLD
I'm in the same boat. I was bitching that it was tied to AT&T and then they dropped that it was unlocked. Guess we should learn not to criticize until the event is over.
Apparently I jumped the gun and it it unlocked and supports microsims. Not so bad.
God tell me this is a bad dream. Cool HW, but WTF are they thinking?
Uhhh. it has 3G dude.

Flamebait?? Gimmie a fucking break. THIS is a flamebait.
