While I don't share your cynicism about our Haitian brothers, I do agree with the general premise of acting locally first. Many of our fellow citizens are dying of hunger and disease yet receive no support. When our children receive a good education and are not straddled with billions in debt then we can look to help others. That being said all good actions are just, and I'm proud to see that the power of giving is still embeded in our nation, despite so many divisions. If only the focus was not on one off disasters but sustained giving.
Just wanted to chime in. The site you showed pretty much proved his point. There is no competition if that is actually where they are both at Theora looks drastically worse.
I'm all for live performances, but ticket prices lately have gotten insane. A stadium that can seat 50k and yet they still charge $100 a ticket like many acts do? No thanks- that is greed pure and simple. I have no problem dropping $10-$20 to see a good band, but thanks to greed and Ticketmaster, live music seems just as much a scam as the recorded stuff.
I am neither a scientist nor an AI focused one, and even still calling everything under the sun a "brain" is perplexing and disturbing to me. My point isn't personal, but it is reasonable. Way to play into the tactics of the marketdroids.
Gimmie a break. I'm all for innovative UIs and input, but calling it a brain is a joke and insulting to those who actually work in fields that contribute to AI research. Natal seems really cool, but lets not get out of hand.
and tell them how proud you are that they finally took a stance befitting their "do no evil" stance. Better late than never, and they deserve our support for this courageous action. I for one have changed my mind about them significantly based on this single action alone.
Yeah and look at the tags: applesucks and applefud. Both of which make no sense considering Apple has nothing to do with this outfit or its results, which happen to favor their "sucky" product. Hate Apple for all they shit they actually do, not just because they may have a slightly better touch accuracy on their phone.
Agreed. Saw Avatar a week ago. Though it looked cool but the story was tired and boring. Sherlock Holmes, while far from perfect didn't just rely on FX to tell a story and was much more fun. Lets not even talk about the acting comparison.
ARM has always been smart both in design as well as production (via licensees). While Intel gets all the press ARM is stealing the show and marketshare.
I was actually simply referring to the past nefarious actions on their part and the fact that their software is mostly a bloated joke which slows down most PCs just as much as the adware its meant to remove.
The big AV companies have created a market of people who are behind a wall, but one that only exists as based on the guardianship of the AV maker. We know they are untrustworthy, and their very presence and size encourages this type of activity. Having a fairly consolidated market with a few vendors having a major share allows "hackers" to target those programs thus making these services useful to a wannabe testing out his exploit.
Sorry but you are wrong. The iPhone has 17% of the mobile share globally, 50% of the global app usage, and an insane 65% of the mobile HTML request. Unlike you I did the research instead of making shit up. Want the source? Here
Yes, and this whole suit bodes well for Apple and other companies who need cheap and integrated, but can't deal with the shitfest we know as Intel Integrated. As you said 9400M while still being low-end is quite capable for most uses, even some light gaming. The though of seeing a move back to Intel graphics in the Macbooks is enough to make me ill. Almost as bad as when they dumped PPC and with it the Radeon 9250(?) on Mini and iBook and replaced it with an Intel 950- that was a bloodbath. I remember working at a major electronics store around 2002 and having the Intel rep always tell me how they were just on the cusp of a really bad ass integrated chipset that would blow away ATI and Nvidia. Well random Itel rep, we're still waiting.
I'm more interested in how much of that reimbursement for her laptop is coming out of the pockets of the American tax payer. Fight your own wars Isreal, most of us could care less between the bloodthirsty Jews and Palestinians. Both are utterly disgusting, but only one is costing us an arm and a leg every year to prop up.
Oh the irony. I hope they get treated with the harshness they have shown to those caught "copying" their works. I also like how they say "copying" instead of "stolen" which I thought was their word for this sort of situation when it happens to them. Shoe on the other foot indeed.

..and yet you reap all the benefits.
Apparently the mods didn't get the joke...

Yeah but what happens when the iPhone leaves AT&T thanks to their lack of forward thinking?

Citation?
Yeah unless its AT&T in which case it continues to get worse and worse.
I think I just got a hell of an education in the US cellular system. Thanks poster!
Well played sir, well played.

Natal. You mean the reflex to the Wii? Yeah typical MS "innovation" indeed.

A crying shame too. AbiWord has always been a great resource. Thanks for all the years of hard work.

Sounds like that degree is DOA at least for her.
