Who wants a base on Mars? Advance the total knowledge of mankind? Increase our long-term survival chances? Do something meaningful? Don't make me laugh; noone wants that shit. What we want is to line the pockets of corrupt assholes and their buddies with money stolen from the common man to 'fund the war and rebuild iraq'. Lol, advancement of mankind indeed. Wash your mouth out.

Argh, at least two hundred people explain that BMI is a poor measure of anything, particularly for body-builder types. Isn't there some way we can filter these posts out other than score? I'd like to see a way to mark a post as a dupe so people can filter dupes. Or, alternatively, article-relative tags so that each variation on a particular theme (eg. "bmi is broken for body-builders") would have the same tag. Together with some indication of which is the definitive post for each tag.

I didn't make it past the dupes to see if *anyone* is appalled at the underlying issue of being forced to pay for the amount of health care you need. As I'm from the UK your system seems horribly backward and uncivilized. I'm so glad our country isn't dominated by corporations [who value profit above quality of service to their customers]. On the downside, as we blindly copy everything even vaguely American, it soon will be :/

Regardless of whether any single numeric value is able to be an effective indicator of the complex and somewhat slippery idea of 'health' (obviously (?) ludicrous), the idea that one's health can be 'measured' way before treatment is needed and payment made in relation to that measure, implies that a single number will determine the amount of healthcare costs/time/resources which will ultimately be expended to save your life.

In this situation, the phrase "I am not a number" should perhaps be interpreted as expressing regret, as numbers have more power...

Argh, to a business graduate, every problem seems amenable to solution by applying the rules of business. What you seem unable to comprehend is that the medical profession is (at least in civilized countries, not counting the USofA) about helping people in need. Just watch the Moore video, look at the faces of the people in France and The UK (where I'm writing from); see the effect of knowing they can trust medical practitioners to fix them when they are broken. Try to think outside your business rulebook and find a new way.

lol.. I love that part in the film where Moore is in the UK talking to staff in Hammersmith hospital and they're just laughing at him for suggesting that someone should pay for healthcare. It's a shame that we in the UK are blatant commies for having such a system of healthcare-for-all. Oh well. :D

Uhh.. so, change your business model to reflect the changes in your customers' needs. Trying to penalise your customer for changing seems doomed to failure; although I may be mistaken =)

When will people learn that information doesn't respect boundaries? One would think it would be a simple lesson, particularly in today's climate of ?IAA attacks on their own customers over the same issue.

Hint: The world is changing. Either lobby to make change illegal or stop whining, please....

    Dear Sir or Madam

You may have noticed that we have not fully charged you for your Pipex services to date. This means your account has an outstanding balance of £46.88, which we plan to take payment for through debiting your credit card on or around 25th May 2007.

We're really sorry for this mistake, which was caused by a problem with our internal systems not identifying when payments were due at the time. This is now fixed and we assure you that once we have collected the outstanding amount you will be fully up to date with all payments and we won't trouble you again with this matter.

If you think we have got this wrong or would like to discuss this matter please do call our Credit Control Team on 0800 107 5905. Our office opening hours are Monday to Saturday 8am-9pm.

Once again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Also, when I was a customer, I would ring on some tech support issue and they would *tell me* (or anyone pretending to be me) my password. Not only is it stored in clear text. Not only does some arbitrary low-level tech support guy have access to it but they *tell you* if you ask, lol. I tried emailing them to suggest that this was foolish but these met with the email equivalent of the blank stare from someone who knows they're correct.
