Honda makes Civics, here in the States at least, Honda uses an annoying animated "Mr. Opportunity" whom is always "knocking" trying to sell cars. We're both right =D
I hardly think an AC on Slashdot should be giving marital advice. Then again, I don't believe I should be responding to an AC troll. I'm caught between my ideals here, so I post!
there is a provision that all the cars external speakers be allowed to play campaign advertisements for the Republicans and Democrats, or commercials targeted at the upcoming pedestrians who have already been RFID tagged.
I just got a picture of commercials broadcasting out of a passing car at a RFID tagged pedestrian with a foot fetish. I don't think the poor guy would be able to leave his house again...
Many of them use an archaic version that they copied over from a dieing computer. Many others just use wordpad to open documents sent to them. Never underestimate what a user will do to keep money in their pocket.
The problem is, you don't realize that there isn't anything in OSS that really competes with MS when it comes to home users.
How about Open Office? I know many home users that prefer a free install of Open Office to a pay for upgrade to Office 2010. With the docx file format coming attached to e-mails, many users were forced to upgrade their version of Office. Those of my clients who needed an upgrade opted for the free, and haven't looked back.
This is what I want to know: Is Microsoft's new stance a sort of "this is the way the world is going, we'd better at least pretend to get with the program," or is it more like "we need to do a better job with PR of covering up our continuing efforts to break and absorb every platform that isn't ours?"
The real question... how long can this franchise hold out when the last episode of any quality was made twenty years ago? Is anyone else bored by this franchise now? And when will it finally, mercifully, be put down?
A: Actually, the last episode of any quality was released 7 years ago. It was released on the xbox as "Knights of the Old Republic
B: Yes, but there is still a large and persistent fan base.
C: The better question, when will Lucas understand that he needs to pass the torch to those who can tap back into what made the original trilogy great? Lucas doesn't understand that this little world of his has outgrown him. Maybe they should mercifully put it down until Lucas "returns to the force", so we can get some real Star Wars movies.
Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan have proven that conventional military does not do well against guerrilla forces. They have technological might, but not agility.
Inside the U.S.A. they don't have to depend solely on the military. The military would be backup to the conventional police, SWAT teams, national guard, etc. They don't need agility because they are already established around the state and federal government seats of power.
I think Schwarzenegger in California encountered the same situation. Limited in what he can do because he really doesn't have much power compared to the nameless and faceless. Now I think he's trying to incense the people enough that maybe they spend a bit more time investigating their votes. I doubt that will work, Americans in general are easily distra...OOOO, Starcraft 2 is out!!!
The right headline for this article is, "CCP takes $1200 from subscriber."
I'm trying to imagine if Blizzard created a World of Warcraft monster that could eat your monthly subscription if it killed you. Players would be furious, and accuse Blizzard of stealing from them. By setting up the system so that PLEX can be destroyed, CCP is doing the same thing.
Except that CCP didn't create the monster. It was another player. As well, PLEX is perfectly safe in a high sec station, and you can sell PLEX without it leaving the station. This was just a vapid player flying around in a one-step up from rookie ship. He was stupid to fly around with all those PLEX in his cargo hold. As well, EVE has a cardinal rule that even the newbs quickly learn. "Never fly what you can't afford to lose." Either he can afford it, or he was stupid. You make the call.
You can now undock with PLEX. The player didn't buy them with real money - he was the direction of an alliance and was using the alliance's pocketbooks for a "get rich quick" market speculation.
Of course, undocking with an active wardec going on with hostiles present in the local system and no defenses are chance at getting out...
Not to mention he was in a kestral. It's not a beginner ship, it just one of the next ones up. Just plain stupid of a move.
"It's a good system I think, rewards the hardcore fans."
Isn't that a bad system? The hardcore fans are the ones most likely to keep paying you cash money. Letting your best market off for free is a good way to turn down revenue.
They're not let off for free. Someone else paid for the PLEX. You can't produce PLEX in-game without purchasing it from EVE (or rather CCP, the makers of EVE). Basically, they are paying someone else with in game money (ISK), to pay (with real money) their subscription. EVE/CCP still gets their money, do you really think they care who's paying it?
Ever play arcade games? Remember how you got free games if you did well enough? This is that, but you can trade your quarters in-game just like you trade any other game item.
Except that the plex wasn't simply "earned if you did well enough". PLEX is actually purchased with real money. It may have been traded for "isk", the in-game currency, but it was originally purchased, solely and by itself, for real money.
But is it actually cheaper than just using boats, trains and trucks? While using three different kinds of transportation may not sound as nice to you, those are the cheapest methods of transporting large amounts of stuff.
Today that might be true, but the military is funding a prototype for loitering over an area for long periods of time. Research on the military's bill. The commercial sector may get trickle down from their successes (IF they are successful) and it may well be a cheaper and more effective solution. The HAV has such a large "roof", I'd imagine they might be able to put solar panels on top of it and power the thrusters, onboard computers, etc without fuel. Upfront costs would be large, but maintenance and fuel costs could be significantly reduced.
Don't forget, the thing can also be flipped over and used as a hovercraft!
Exactly where in the 'article' is the information about Comcast charging? It's not.
Last time I used cable, the box came free with the service. If you wanted a better box, you paid more. ($10 more for HD, or DVR, or HD-DVR. Yeah, they were all the same.)
You are partially correct. Comcast charges a per box fee past 4 boxes. If you only have 4 TVs, no extra fee.

Those tires make almost no noise at all.
Do they make these tires in a wife-sized model?
The Civic would have a knock-knock-knock of "Mr. Opportunity"
How about the constant sound of over-applied brakes and smoking rotors?

Heck, why not just bolt a vuvuzela to the hood?
Because unlike a Toyota, a vuvuzela can stop.

In other news, the original After Dark crew is getting back together to make a flying chairs screensaver...
there were actually 4. The complete ideal is embrace, extend, enfiltrate, and eradicate.

Yes.
(How do you "lose" film that you still have?)
Stan, Eric, Kenny and Cartman break into your film vault to protect your films from you. Duh...

Then you stopped too soon...
