Prophecy of St Malachy
When I read The Year of Three Popes by Peter Hebblethwaite (about the events of 1978 which saw the death of Paul VI, the election and death of John Paul I, and then the election of John Paul II) he mentions the spate of editorials in the Osservatore Romano and the spate of letters to the editor in the Times of London at the time of the conclaves about what the mottos attributed to the dead pope or the next pope by St Malachy in his prophecies. Enthralled, I went to the library and looked through the microfilm of the Times to read the letters myself. And then I tried to track down a copy of the prophecies. I have them reproduced below, as well as an explanation of them from the Catholic Encyclopedia. The prevailing view today is that they are elaborate forgeries, probably perpretrated by a school of Jesuits in the 1600s. This is based on the clear relation of the mottos to the various popes until that period, and the need to find oblique references (such as the motto of the Pope's home diocese) to make the particular motto fit the particular pope. The inclusion of anti-popes would also appear to militate against the authenticity of the prophecies. Nevetheless, as each new conclave comes and goes, people start to become a bit jittery about them. I think they are a bit of fun, and the semantic exercise of trying to fit the motto to the Pope that goes on in letters to the editor around the world is great reading!
According to the prophecy, the next Pope will be the second last Pope Gloria Olivae ("Glory of the Olives"). Will we see the return of an Italian to Vatican Hill? The most famous and best known prophecies about the popes are those attributed to St. Malachy. In 1139 he went to Rome to give an account of the affairs of his diocese to the pope, Innocent II, who promised him two palliums for the metropolitan Sees of Armagh and Cashel. While at Rome, he received (according to the Abbé Cucherat) the strange vision of the future wherein was unfolded before his mind the long list of illustrious pontiffs who were to rule the Church until the end of time. The same author tells us that St. Malachy gave his manuscript to Innocent II to console him in the midst of his tribulations, and that the document remained unknown in the Roman Archives until its discovery in 1590 (Cucherat, "Proph. de la succession des papes", ch. xv). They were first published by Arnold de Wyon, and ever since there has been much discussion as to whether they are genuine predictions of St. Malachy or forgeries. The silence of 400 years on the part of so many learned authors who had written about the popes, and the silence of St. Bernard especially, who wrote the "Life of St. Malachy", is a strong argument against their authenticity, but it is not conclusive if we adopt Cucherat's theory that they were hidden in the Archives during those 400 years.
These short prophetical announcements, in number 112, indicate some noticeable trait of all future popes from Celestine II, who was elected in the year 1130, until the end of the world. They are enunciated under mystical titles. BEWARE OF INTERNATIONAL LIBERAL JEWS!
In dealing with any controversial subject such as International Judaism and its Satanic offspring Zionism and Communism, it is often difficult to get a message of warning across to those who are in the most immediate danger. This is due to the fact that the Christian world has become so "brainwashed" in the "Liberal mind detergent" of Zionist propaganda, that immediately, when one speaks of a Jew in any but the most complimentary of terms, he is saddled with the horrible accusation of being an "anti-Semite." This has stifled honest discussion of this tremendous problem.
This book has been written specifically to Christians who have been mis-led by their church leaders, into believing that the Jews of today are the Chosen People of !he Old Testament and that they must be afforded only the most courteous treatment, no matter what evil they may do; to do less, will cause the curse of God to descend on this country, or so their religious leaders aver. The Scripture used to back this contention is found in Genesis 12:3 and contains God's blessing to Abraham: "I will bless them that bless thee; and curse him that curseth thee." They are very careful not to tell their parishioners that Abraham was a Hebrew, not a Jew and that there were no people known as Jews on the Bible scene, until 2 Kings 16:6, about 1200 years after the time of Abraham, and here we find them fighting against Israel.
The contention that God has blessed America because we have been kind to the Jews, is a falsehood, easily proven so. There has been no time in America's history, when this country has gone down hill faster, in every facet of our national life - economically, politically, militarily and spiritually - than in the years since 1948, when we first recognized the right of International Zionism to steal the land of Palestine from it's rightful owners, and establish a Jewish State on this stolen ground.
It is quite possible that we are seeing the culmination of a curse men mentioned in 2 Chronicles 19:2, which is never quoted by our ministers. It says: "Shouldest thou help the un-Godly? and love them that hate the Lord; therefore is wrath upon thee from before the Lord."
Today we see good Christians, as they deny the truth spoken by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5:11, when he said: ". . . have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them (expose)."
1 John 2:23, 23 tells Christians who the anti-Christ is. It is anyone who denies Jesus Christ. This person cannot have the Father. Then in 2 John 10, 11, John specifically warns Christians to have nothing whatsoever to do with these anti-Christs, for if they do they become "par-takers in their evil deeds." This argument from the Scriptures should pretty well cover the attitude of any honest Christian who believes the Bible, yet who wants to fellowship with Jews.
Jesus was much more specific and vehement in His accusations against the Pharisees than I have ever dared to be. He said of them in John 8:44 - "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. Re was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him..." Then to put a finishing touch on His condemnation, He said as recorded in John 10:26 - "But ye (Jews) believe not, BECAUSE YE ARE NOT OF MY SHEEP . .

Today, while driving through town, I wound up behind a minivan that had a big sticker on the back. The sticker had an Israeli flag in the middle of it, and under it the quotation from the book of Genesis that reads "I will bless those who bless thee." I would like to take this time to list my own reasons for thanking and blessing Israel, our lone ally in the Middle East, for everything she has done for us, since I am quite sure most Americans are unaware of just what kind of friend she has been to us.
For extorting from me and my fellow Americans $4,000,000,000 a year for the last 4 decades, we bless thee. For taking our most sophisticated weapons technology and stealing it for yourself without paying the American patent holders, we bless thee.
For taking that high-tech military technology and selling it to our enemies, such as the Russians and Chinese, thus further endangering us, we bless thee.
For using that weaponry in a sustained attack against a United States ship, the USS Liberty, in an attempt to sink her, thus preventing US servicemen from revealing to the rest of the world information concerning the war crimes they witnessed you commit against Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai Desert during the Six Day War, we bless thee.
For killing 35 and wounding 170 American sailors aboard the USS Liberty, we bless thee. For bribing the United States government into covering it up, preventing any justice from being done for the benefit of the families of the lost sailors - as well as the American People, we bless thee.
For sending your agents into Egypt and blowing up American buildings for the purpose of blaming the Arabs in an event known as the Lavon Affair, we bless thee.
For sending your agents into Libya during the Reagan administration, and broadcasting radio messages in Arabic that were designed to sound like "terrorist cell planning" so that the US would initiate military strikes against Khadafi, we bless thee.
For withholding information from us concerning the planned attacks against the US Marine barracks in Lebanon, attacks you knew about through your moles in the Islamic world and about which you deliberately refused to warn us in order to further your interests against the Arabs, we bless thee.
For employing Jonathon Pollard, an American serviceman paid to spy for Israel in order to steal even more of our National Security secrets for your parasitic purposes, we bless thee.
For blackmailing President Clinton through one of your intelligence agents, Monica Lewinsky, in order to prevent a coherent peace program from being pushed forward between yourself and the Palestinian people that you have brutalized and murdered for the last 50 years, we bless thee.
For breaking every agreement you have made with your Arab neighbors, stealing their land, displacing, murdering, and treating them like the animals you see them as, we bless thee.
