This, a million times this. It's a damn shame that site that is as tech-oriented as Slashdot has no public API. Then again, it has no unicode either, so we can't expect much.
Shameless plug: the app linked in my sig works by parsing the HTML, like some sort of a barbarian. I hate it, and it completely chokes on the new beta thing.
NSA considered the possibility that Snowden left malicious software behind and removed every computer and cable that Snowden had access to from its classified network, costing tens of millions of dollars.
Because next time I write a virus, I will use it to infect a UTP cable.
Well, obviously, you need both. You'd like a GNSS (a system of navigation satellites) to help you navigate. But how will the satellites navigate themselves? They need an additional GSNS (system for navigation of satellites).
Over a hundred comments and still no mention of Mozilla Persona / BrowserID. It's the best of both worlds, saving you from having your own authentication system (and users from having another password to remember), while still not giving personal data to Google. It's dead simple to implement, why don't more websites do it?
That still doesn't explain the outrage over YouTube - Gmail - G+ integration. All the accounts are with Google, and they know everything from all three services. So does NSA. And don't think thay can't identify if you log to their different services with different accounts but with the same IP address.
Wait, let me get this straight. Logging in with Google using the old mechanism is fine. Logging in with Google using Google+ is bad. I've always thought that the outrage is about giving your data to Google, but that's not the case here? Basically, it's just "Everything Google does is great, but strap a non-alphanumeric character to the name, and it's the spawn of Satan"?
Care to share your definition of "real money"? Money can only be something that people value above its production cost, which makes the existence of "real money" impossible.
GWB was especially incompetent for a president, yet he still was elected twice. I don't know how much this was caused by his patriotic speeches and how much by his father's, but he certainly wouldn't be in office if he spent the war money on something like a nationalized power distribution system.
The summarization of the summary of the summary comes into play again. The funny thing is, if you try to spend extra money on infrastructure like roads, power generation and distribution or healthcare, people will no longer vote for you. If you spend the money on war, you can play the "patriot" and "fear" cards, and they will love you.
The article (the one with the longest link, on Ars) sucks as well. It has several mentions of "nuclear", "defcon" and "wars", but says very little about the actual patents involved.
I would, but I suspect my router has altered its contents. Or it has altered my brain, I'm not sure which.

At big part of it is the feeling that you're special, and that you "beat the system".
These high powered lasers can bore a hole through a normal household mirror, by the way, for the same reason.
I would really like a citation on that, especially on the part how they don't get burned by the reflected light.

Not "cures", but "treats". You pay for a cure once. You keep paying for treatment for the rest of your life.
Ted Tso is just awesome.
I remember being here when ext4 was released, and there were some major performance issues. People hated on him like he was burning orphanages.
Not really, no. There are, however, many people of average intelligence who like to believe that.
I say we harness the power of the atom from a circular trajectory. It's the only way to be positive.

This is Microsoft. Their software never fails.
Given how much money the US has saved, other countries would have to lose almost million of them on US soil.
sudo killall politicians
If I go to a general store, I can't pay with US dollars. Are they not real money?

You can leave the profile empty, and enter a false name.

You mean the Moops?
Yeah, there must be an agency in the US that stores all telephone call logs. Oh, wait...

Google will start mining every piece of data it can get off the website, of course the NSA will be stealing that and stashing it in Utah.
Because NSA couldn't spy on a government website without Google?
