  1. Summary Focus on "Water Bears" First Animals to Survive Trip Into Space Naked · · Score: 5, Insightful

After RTFA /shock, the focus seems to be not on the fact they survived in space but more the fact that they survived being dosed repeteadly with huge amounts of radiation, without any apparent damage to the DNA structure.

  2. Re:Encrypted Mobile PHones on Speculation On Large-Scale Phone Location Snooping · · Score: 1

I think it could be worth it just so the secret services do try to listen in. Can you imagine the reaction when they bust into my local pizza takeout demanding to know which explosives come with a pepperoni pizza?

  3. It has to be said... on What To Do With Old Laptops? · · Score: 1, Redundant

  4. Patentability on Nintendo Suffers $21M Patent Infringement Award · · Score: 2, Insightful

I know its been said many times before, but how are any of these patentable? A 3d controller with vibration - how can a patent office and a judge believe that qualifies as non-obvious and novel? Not only that, but on all of these controllers surely all of the playstation controllers, the n64 controller, dreamcast constitute prior art?

  6. Its already happening? on Climate Change Finally Impacts Important Industry · · Score: 0

Doesn't the title imply that this has alread, an is currently happening? (Past continuous quite possibly....) I RTFA but it doesnt give any indication that my precious beer drinking activities have been impacted.. In the Uk beer prices have only gone down recently, despite higher taxes.

  7. Ebay Item on In Australia, An Ebay Sale is a Sale · · Score: 0

I don't know if anyone let the Australians know... but didn't WW2 end in 1945?

  8. Re:sounds good to me on Auction Site To Sell Security Vulnerabilities · · Score: 1

Well quite frankly the company in question SHOULD be paying up for problems in its own code. Effectively, they are doing the job that that companies's coding department failed to do, and so the company really has something of a duty to buy the exploit to compensate the seller for their time and effort.

  9. Funding for Wiki on The Debate Over Advertising on Wikipedia · · Score: 1

This is just a thought on the whole wiki funding situation, but surely any company that supplies wikipedia would be willing to gift products to them, in order to be the company that supplies wikipedia? Its would be pretty good PR for any company to be associated with such a popular organistation in that way, and it wouldnt tie wikipedia into anything itself.
