Oh yes, I've played this. It's about as realistic as you can get, from a layman's point of view. Especially love the HUD.

I will never understand why Sierra cancelled the Starfury sim project that was in progress.

This will make a great spaceflight sim in Babylon 5 Online, although I'm more in to roleplaying than dogfighting. Come on, JMS...it's $$$!...

But this has to be done right. Model the ENTIRE freaking station. Servers should transparently link up with each other so all players share the same 'world.'

Train to be a Ranger, or become a Shadow agent. Smuggle Dust to far off colonies. Explore hyperspace wih no chance of ever making it back to
safety. Trade alien goods Down Below. Fight off the breaching pods of EA (Earth Alliance, NOT Electronic Arts) as a gropo or take part in suicidal Starfury runs against Vorlon planet killers. The possibilities are endless.

I would love to see this come true...

Perhaps cutting down on the number of articles posted will help. My personal opinion is that many of the stories are just drivel. There's really no need to report on the nth article on the iPod (disclaimer: I'm an iPod owner) or WoW.

Also, whatever happened to the mini Slashdot articles? What were they called...ya know, where there's a collection of less important/offbeat newsbits. That would help with the clutter on the frontpage.

To the editors: I do hope that you get off your asses and do something. Editors are supposed to editorialise right?

So, pen your thoughts on topics of interest to the geek world. All we get so far is this immense wall of silence from you. It's like you're just going through the motions nowadays.

At least address the complaints we see daily. You owe the paying subscribers this much.

I recall the heyday of /. when I could look forward to really thought-inspiring articles. Hell, even Jon Katz was worth a gander now and then, if only to laugh at how clueless he was/is.

Articles on tired Sci-Fi franchises and barely concealed adverts are boring me to tears.

As an aside, can anyone can recommend another good forum for geeks to hang out on?

Take a step back, take a deep breath, and look at Enterprise again: It's a piece of shit. Wanna titilate? Go frontal like LEXX and let it all hang out. Ooh look, a sideways view of an alien breast.
    What does that do, exactly?

You can continue to pretend that Enterprise is actually watchable and keep on jerking off to the T'Pol freeze frames. I'll stick with my hardcore homo kiddie stash.

    Woah. What's with the aggro?

Tell me, if we took the excess skin away from Galactica, would it still be as good? My answer is "Yes." Why then, do the makers feel inclined to pander to the lowest common denominator? If we want Sci-Fi to climb out of the ghetto, we would do well to focus on the story, not the T&A.

And yes, I do understand the show. I like it, immensely. It's the best series to come along in a long while and I would recommend it heartily to anyone.

But it's like being a comic book fan: You can tell someone to go check out title x, but it features implausibly large breasted spandex-clad women on the cover, do you not think that it would offend most females and those to whom substance is more important than style?

If we want geek culture to be taken seriously, we should show that we are above prurient drivel.

How much skin did Ivanova flash over the course of 5 seasons of B5? Was it any worse for it?
