the freak operators like === are a response to the lack of type safety. Not having stict types can be really usefull, and if you code well, irrelevant to the security or performance of your application.

The MPAA claim that it was in use only privatly and they had no advertising. Good to know. If they ever come knocking, I will tell them I watched the movies and home and never sold them to anyone.
Web Developers and Web Content-Maker-Guys YEARS ago gave the "no right click" a try. We quickly learned that if some one wants the content off the web site, they will get it, so there is no use in trying to introduce barriers that only hurt the casual user. You don't see "no-right-click" scripts anymore, but we are still producing tons of content for the web. Much of it copyrighted, and mostly the copyright honored.
I can't help but see this as a parent who is all too restrictive with thier child, leading the child into endless rebelion that would have been avoided if moderation was used instead of a billy club.
Up here in Canada, a 64 year old man could have sex with a 14 year old girl, he just can't 1) tell anyone about it 2) write about it 3) record it
The act is fine.
well i admittedly do not know how tivo does everything, but if i tell beyondTV i was to record shows X and Y, i choose "all new, all, etc" so say i choose "all new" and X and Y come on at the same time, it chooses the one i like more. On top of that, it will look for the other one showing again later, perhaps on a new channel.
you believe the amount that google makes from this is "small but non-zero" -- i would not put it past that this would be a very large chunk of their overall ad profits. Go look into what one person (one person) could make in a couple months of squatting. It is out of the world rediculous. If google gets the slice it wants, then they are sharing in the vast amount of money going to these thousands upon thousands of domain squatters.
i see no good reason for paying monthly fees for a company to give your information away. Using a crap computer and somthing like BeyondTV you get to watch everything from normal cable to free HDTV... that's more what I am for. Enjoyed it every since i got it.
Thats pretty poor french there bud, and oops, you're mocking a Canadian. I was in french immersion (tardif) and the videos were not a method of instruction, so much as a break from the doldrums, while staying in the french mindset. I recieved 96% on my provicial exam, so they did somthing right.
what they will do is either keep it throttled or throttle it more. Reason would be, the number of people who use it now is much less than what it looks like the future may hold. If it is throttled now, new people wont be the wiser, and all those people never take us early-adopter-techie-pure-hearts seriously anyways
I used to love how firefox would get me the results i wanted just by typing somthing in the address bar and then pressing enter. Most times it was right. It is one of the things i have to get used to with opera still. It sucks at getting a result. When i type somthing in the address bar i want it to get me to where i wanna go. With opera i usually get an error for a mal formed URL.
That being said, i find i used google through the address bar more than the site
"g my search query" in opera does that google search. I use it even when on google some times.
The funny thing is, today after getting home I was looking for the old one and couldn't find it. Some one made it easy on me. I almost had to use the search function.
All i get to use is the sharp el510r http://www.grandandtoy.com/sites/CORP/ProductDetai lsPopup.aspx?productCode=EL510 and i am in second year university at uvic.
In highschool i was expected to have a TI-83 which was all i needed and more. By the end of the year, i didnt need to remember anything, because i had made a program that could handle every part of math12.
Well if you actually read the comments above instead of going straight to complaining you would see the posts are all pretty much jokes, or people blaming google (or firefox too)
Way back before myspace there was essentially the exact same thing called bolt. When it outgrew itself it did just that, sprouted a new bolt, completly unrelated to the old Bolt. Usernames didnt come over or anything.
"If we can't sue them and get the money all at once, we'll use google adsense and get it back 10 cents at a time!"

Watching Wallace and Gromit is what made french class tolerable!

if http://ie7.com/ can survive this long, goodbye-microsoft.com should have similar luck.
