It's doing the 19th with 21st century technology. This is probably what would happen if we took our modern technology back in time to the societies that were once in the western world.
Then you wouldn't be able to search for anything. And more than one company can hold the same trademark as long as the use is not for a similar product (at least in the UK). There are two companies with registration of the "Ubuntu" trademark here, and trademarks don't need to be registered to be a trademark.
And what about those that can't afford the large resources to pay for the use of a trademark
Accept it costs more than that.
It costs the you the shredder (if it has name and address on it) it costs the extra load that need to be taking in the rubbish bins (garbage/trash cans to you Americans) and disposing of it, ore it costs the extra fee for recycling it to the government...
That depends on very careful wording of the law. If it's worded as unsolicited electronic communications, then it won't matter what address is in the headers.
Until they start locking up the directors of capital-one and other similar companies (that do snail mail spam), what right do they have to lock up email spammers?
I hate spam as much as the next person, but it is no different.
If it's the GUI that's different, they can still help each other with protocol code so, as long as they are willing to talk it can be win/win situation.
Accept KDE and gnome developers do work together. Ever seen what happens if you drag a file from konqueror or dolphin to nautilus? Both system trays can work with both the gnome and kde system tray api's... etc.
May be they should parallise it, so they actually happen simultaneously, surely the most expensive part is actual disc access speed.
We were talking about open source code... Most hackers prefer this philosophy.

IE8 Beta 1 has mucked up handling...
1200 baud-9600 baud may be slow. But amateur operators are getting these signals as fa as possible on as lower as possible power.
Edit should also be limited to a short time period.
