Pain compliance as opposed to mechanical compliance. Its a way to control the movements of another person. Pain compliance uses a hold or a technique generally that applies pain (duh!), mechanical techniques restrict motions of limbs and joints. It can actually be a bit more dangerous for the user (though probably not a much with a taser) than mechanical, since with those the recipient will generally need to break their own joint or limb to power through it. But mechanical compliance is more dangerous for the recipient (maybe on par with using a Taser though) since misapplication of force can damage the recipient.
I'm not sure you get why people use pdfs. Its so that there is a consistent PRINT of the document. Plain text doesn't guarantee anything for the print (and if it did it wouldn't be plain text now would it.) In addition, you can't include graphics and logos on your forms and no ASCII art isn't good enough.
You may want to check your numbers again. Montreal's metro area (this includes all of the surrounding areas) is equivalent to just the downtown LA or Chicago, not their metro area's (which is 12M and 8M). Toronto is about the same size as Philadelphia (5M). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_major_metropo litan_areas_by_population
Other than that you are absolutely right, Google should roll this out in Canada.
They eventually hope to have 100% of online-connected users on the service
Sony, Microsoft, and even Nintendo need to understand something...
A lot, probably even the majority, of casual gamers, don't want the whole live/home/online "experience". We want to pop in a game and waste a few hours to unwind between getting home from work/school and having dinner.
I don't care if the world knows how much I rock (or suck) at the newest games. I don't want trinkets and scenery and furniture for a virtual apartment. I don't want to spend time doing anything beyond slaying dragons, drag-racing through densely populated urban areas, slappin' hos, and getting the little colored blocks lines up just right so they go "bleep" and vanish.
My style of gaming doesn't fit Sony's ideal revenue model. Too bad - Give me what I want, or you don't get any revenue from me. The whole online thing is perfect for casual gamers. There is nothing like having 5 minutes and just hoping on XBLA and playing a quick game of geometry wars or getting a quick game of whatever is the latest thing in.
You don't have to go to a game store or anything, it's just available. And if you like it you can spend a couple bucks then and there and get the full version.
That would definitely be neat.
You run Windows Update and check off any features or applications that you would like. Your security updates would still come in through automatic updates, and any updates for applications that you checked off. They could then incrementally roll out new features (and charge for them) as they add new things.

I can't even use the Iphone if I got it. You need Itunes to activate it and the last time I looked Itunes isn't available on Ubuntu.
Is there a work around or anything?
